My 8 year old son tried scuba diving for the first time. After going under water, he experienced some middle ear pain, so we finished early. Children's eustachian tubes are narrower and more horizontally alligned, and widen and become more vertically alligned as they age. Which means there is no hard and set rule for when they can try diving - 8? 9? 10? Another time...

Well, yet another typhoon is seriously affecting our waters... It has been a tough August-September-October period with now 22 typhoons this season and, of those, about 5 of them seriously affecting the island: ferries stopped, diving stopped, electricity stopped... Here's hoping you can get in the water wherever you are, because I'm sadly landlocked for a while, again!

Typhoon Sanba looks pretty intense, so prepare ye all for the storm ahead!
