There was so many amazing moments throughout the race, but these ones will stick forever in my memory:

- crossing Harbour Bridge just after sunrise, with the golden glow from the early morning light and the Opera House over to my left and helicopter hovering overhead

- passing underneath the Harbour Bridge and seeing the Opera House in the distance

- turning the final corner and the Opera House, and iconic finish line, coming into view

I travelled alone to the other side of the world to go for a run, but at no time did I ever feel lonely…

And that is thanks to everyone in these photos.

The online running community is unique and incredibly special - I have made friends from all corners of the globe, simply by sharing photos and videos of me going for a run. It really blows my mind.

Sydney Marathon was awesome, I loved every minute - but that was only one part of a much bigger weekend spent hanging out with these wonderful people.

In the words of Geoffrey Crow (who I’ve spoken to for years online but only met for the first time in person yesterday!) as we were swimming in the sea at Bondi Beach - just before Beach Patrol came and told us off for not being between the flags 😬 - “core memories unlocked”.

Thank you Sydney Marathon, for bringing us all together - in just a few weeks I’ll be hanging with some of these guys at Berlin Marathon, and again at New York Marathon next month 🥳

Sydney Marathon 2026 - and she is a beauty!

Despite the slight controversy around accidentally including Munich’s Allianz Arena instead of Sydney’s Allianz Stadium (Sydney Marathon were cool about it and laughed it off), this must be one of the best looking medals I have.
