The 4-day Punjab State Sub-Junior Ranking Badminton Tournament 2026 commenced today at the iconic Raizada Hansraj Badminton Stadium, Jalandhar under the aegis of the Punjab Badminton Association. The tournament will continue till May 22.
The championship was inaugurated by Chief Guest MLA & PBA President S.Amritpal Singh Sukhanand.
A heartfelt tribute was paid to Late Mayank Sharma and Sahib, two young badminton players who lost their lives in tragic road accidents. Running trophies in the U-15 & U-17 categories have been instituted in their memory. ๐๐ป
Jalandharโs international shuttler Manya Ralhan was also felicitated with a cash award of โน31,000 by DBA,Jalandhar for winning a Bronze Medal at the Saint Denis Open in France. ๐ฎ๐ณ๐ฅ

Special Thanks to the Health Mission Jalandhar team for conducting a highly informative CPR Training & Yoga Activity Camp at Raizada Hansraj Badminton Stadium. Free Sugar & BP check-ups were also conducted for all members.
The CPR training, which is extremely important in todayโs time, was highly appreciated by all the players and participants. Such initiatives promote health awareness, fitness, and emergency preparedness within the sports community.

Revised Dates for Under 15 & 17 Punjab State Ranking Tournament ๐ธ
๐๐๐๐ Mini Punjab State Badminton Ranking Tournament being held at Raizada Hansraj Badminton Stadium,Jalandhar ๐ธ
The 1st Punjab State Mini Ranking Badminton Tournament kicked off today at the iconic Raizada Hansraj Badminton Stadium. The tournament was formally inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Sh. Varjeet Walia (IAS).
Punjab Badminton Association Secretary Sh. Ritin Khanna shared that the three-day event will witness around 280 matches, featuring nearly 300 players from 22 districts across Punjab.
The tournament includes eight events in the Under-11 and Under-13 categories for both boys and girls. Matches will continue over the next three days, with the finals scheduled for Sunday.

For the first time in the history of Punjab badminton, players were awarded cash prizes amounting to โน4,00,000 in recognition of their outstanding performances at the National and International circuits. This landmark initiative marks a significant step toward encouraging sporting excellence in the state.
The ceremony was graced by the newly elected President of Punjab Badminton Association, S. Amritpal Singh Sukhanand, along with Honorary Secretary Sh. Ritin Khanna and other senior office bearers of the association, who were present on the occasion to honor the achievers.
