Manipur Masters Athletes to join Indian Masters Team at World Masters Athletics Championships Daegu South Korea 2026.
Manipur’s Masters athletes are set to participate and represent India at the World Masters Athletics Championships Daegu 2026, to be held in Daegu, South Korea, from August 22 to September 3, 2026, with the Opening Ceremony on August 21.
The Manipur Masters athletes will join the Indian Masters Athletics Team and compete alongside veteran athletes from around the world.
The championship is expected to bring together more than 11,000 athletes aged 35 and above from over 90 countries, competing across 34 track, field and road events.
It will be a proud moment for Manipur and India as our experienced athletes take the international stage, showcasing their dedication, fitness, determination and sporting spirit.

1st Manipur Athletic Relay Championship 2026 – Manipur Masters Athletics Association (MMAA) is really pushing the “relay revolution.”

1. Inclusive categories –
• Open: Standard 4x100m, 4x400m Men/Women
• Mixed Age: 1 Open + Masters 40+ + 50+ + 60+ on same team. That’s rare and brilliant for Masters sport
• Mixed S*x: 1 Open Men + Open Women + Masters 40+ Men + Masters 40+ Women
• Mixed Age 4x1200m: Same age mix, longer distance
• U-16 Medley Relay: Getting youth into the medley format

2. Smart team rules
• “Athletes holding consecutive seed rankings shall not be placed in the same relay team” – prevents stacking and keeps competition fair
• Age eligibility strictly enforced
• Team composition locked after entries close – no last-minute ringers.
