Ready to build a stronger core and sculpt your obliques? While you can’t spot-reduce fat, targeting the underlying oblique muscles helps tighten, tone, and build a powerful midsection. Combine these 4 targeted movements with consistent cardio and a clean diet to see maximum results!
Here is how to program these exercises into your routine:
🔹 1. Russian Twists
How to do it: Sit down, lean back at a 45° angle, and lift your feet slightly off the ground. Twist your torso from side to side, touching the weight or your hands to the floor.
Volume: 3 to 4 sets of 15 to 20 reps per side.
🔹 2. Side Plank & Leg Raise
How to do it: Hold a solid side plank on your forearm. Keeping your core tight and hips lifted, slowly raise and lower your top leg.
Volume: 3 sets of 10 to 12 reps per side.
🔹 3. Bicycle Crunches
How to do it: Lie flat on your back, bring your knees up, and place your hands behind your head. Alternate touching your opposite elbow to your opposite knee while extending the other leg straight out.
Volume: 3 to 4 sets of 20 reps (10 per side).
🔹 4. Woodchoppers
How to do it: Using a cable machine or a weight, stand with feet shoulder-width apart. Engage your core and chop diagonally across your body from high to low, rotating your torso.
Volume: 3 sets of 12 to 15 reps per side.
💡 PRO TIP: Consistency is your super power. Aim to hit this oblique circuit 2 to 3 times a week, keep your rest times short (around 45 seconds between sets), and back it up with healthy nutrition! Let’s get to work! 💪
