In the Pre-Quarter Final played at Sports Stadium Anantnag, RCC Anantnag defeated Lions Cricket Club Anantnag in a thrilling encounter to qualify for the Quarter Finals. Lions CC set a challenging target of 178 runs, which RCC Anantnag successfully chased down in 19.2 overs with 8 wickets down. Mohsin Lone was the star performer for RCC, scoring a match-winning unbeaten 61 runs off 40 balls and earning the Man of the Match award. Congratulations to RCC Anantnag on their impressive victory and qualification for the Quarter Finals.

12th District Tennikoit Championship 2026–27 Kicks Off at Lyceum International School Pulwama

Pulwama, September 8, 2026: The 12th District Pulwama Tennikoit Championship 2026–27 commenced today at Lyceum International School, Pulwama, with great enthusiasm and sporting spirit. The championship is being organized by the District Pulwama Tennikoit Association under the aegis of the J&K Tennikoit Association and in collaboration with the J&K Sports Council. The event is being held under the theme “SAY YES TO SPORTS, NO TO DRUGS,” reinforcing the message of a healthy and drug-free society through sports.

The opening ceremony witnessed the presence of distinguished guests, sports officials, coaches, players, and sports enthusiasts from across the district. Dr. Iris Hamid, Principal, Lyceum International School Pulwama, attended as the Chief Guest, while Faizan Qayoom, General Secretary, District Pulwama Tennikoit Association, was present as the Guest of Honour. The guests appreciated the efforts of the organizers in promoting Tennikoit and encouraging youth participation at the grassroots level.

The championship has attracted more than 250 participants, including boys and girls competing in the Sub-Junior, Junior, and Senior categories. The impressive participation reflects the growing popularity of Tennikoit in the district and the enthusiasm of young athletes to excel in the sport.

Speaking on the occasion, Sunaina Gulzar, Organising Secretary, welcomed all teams, officials, and guests and expressed gratitude to the J&K Sports Council, J&K Tennikoit Association, coaches, volunteers, and supporters for their valuable cooperation.

The championship aims to identify emerging talent while fostering discipline, teamwork, leadership, fitness, and healthy competition among youth. The event will continue with exciting matches across various categories, providing young players a platform to showcase their talent and contribute to the promotion of a strong sports culture in Pulwama.
