*YSS Felicitates 15-Year-Old Cricket Sensation Aleeza Shahnawaz*
Anantnag June 17: At just 15 years age, Bonigam Qazigund’s Aleeza Shahnawaz is proving that hard work speaks much louder than social media fame. Instead of chasing online likes, the young cricketer has focused entirely on her game and it is paying off massively. After making her national debut in 2025 through the J&K Department of Youth Services & Sports (DYSS), Aleeza rapidly climbed the ranks. She quickly earned spots on the Under-19 and Under-23 teams, and has now achieved a massive milestone: joining the Jammu & Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) Senior Women’s Team.
Behind Aleeza’s rapid rise is the deep support of her parents, Shahnawaz and Aasfy. Their sacrifices and belief in her talent, combined with Aleeza's relentless work ethic, turned her childhood dream into reality.
To honor this incredible achievement, the Directorate of Youth Services & Sports officially felicitated the young cricketer. District Youth Services and Sports Officer Anantnag Zahoor Ahmad Wani personally visited Aleeza’s home along with some field officials to congratulate her on behalf of Director General of YSS Anuradha Gupta, presenting the family with a token of appreciation to celebrate her success and encourage her bright future in cricket.
During the visit, Aleeza’s parents shared their deep gratitude toward the YSS. They noted that her 2025 national debut which she played with the support of the Directorate of Youth Services and Sports J&K was the ultimate turning point for her career, giving her the confidence to dream bigger and push harder.
Aleeza’s journey is a powerful reminder that true champions are built through grit and consistent performance. As she proudly represents JK on the senior stage, she stands as a shining example that talent, hard work, and resilience will always find their way to the top.
