Friday night lights is back!! Our seniors take on Fethard & District RFC in the Casey Cup this coming Friday, 4th September.

With Dungarvan RFC & Carrick-On-Suir RFC on the other side of the draw, the next few weekends promise to throw up some entertaining rugby!!

With a 8:00pm kick off, we hope to see a good crowd out cheering on the lads!

Minis Rugby RETURNS!

Our minis section returns back to training this coming Sunday, 30th August @ 10:30am at our club grounds in Kilbarry. X91 F516.

All welcome from ages 5 onwards. Come out and give rugby a try in a fun, safe environment. Games, rugby drills and get to know the basics!

Great memory flashed up on Facebook over the weekend from 10 years ago when members of Waterford City RFC got to be ball boys & girls for the pre season clash between Munster Rugby & Zebre down in the RSC back in 2016.

A brilliant evening was had by all and they got to meet some of Munsters players too.

Our senior squad made the short journey up the N24 for the Clonmel Rugby 10’s, a pre-season competition which is growing in popularity year on year.

Taking on New Ross RFC, Tralee RFC then Berlin RFC, the boys won all three group games putting themselves into a cup semi final against Carlow RFC. They came through that test to set up a final against our local rivals Carrick-On-Suir, who are previous winners of the competition.

A great game saw City come out on top 14-10 to claim the cup.🏉💪🏼🏆

Our Mini’s Players are back training on Sunday August 30th @ 10:30am.

Rugby is a great sport for younger kids to get involved with because they can learn the basics of whilst having fun at the same time. It also teaches them discipline and respect towards one another which will stand to them in later years aswell as in other sports.

As many of you may know we unfortunately lost an ex youth player Shane McCarthy last Christmas.

Shane's brother-in-law Anthony Keyes is running 7 ultra marathons over 7 days while also holding down his full time job in aid for the Waterford hospice that helped Shane throughout his terrible illness.

25km in the morning before work and 25km in the evening after work!! With many friends helping to keep him going through out it.

Anthony is on day 5 with two more days to go!

His dad Noelie McCarthy was also a WCRFC player and great club man throughout the years!

Well done to Rhys Hughes , Fionn McCarthy Kelleher and Hugo Thompson who represented the club whilst playing for Munster today .

The 3 lads played starring roles and scored important try’s in Munster’s Interprovincial series, in which they won 3 matches from 3.

All at Waterford City RFC would like to pass on sincere condolences to the family & friends of Martina Roche Galgey, who has sadly passed away.

Our thoughts and prayers are with her Husband John, Daughters Lyndsey & Tracey, Sons Shane & Cian aswell as the rest of her family. She will be sadly missed by all.
