I kicked off my Mat Leave by attending the Enterprising Womens Network event in Runway28 🗣️
and shared the stage in what was a very inspiring conversation discussing Emma’s career, all that she juggled and overcame, which was very fitting as I embark on a new role that will impact my professional capacity and change my identity!
It was great to connect with and spend more time with and

It may be available on your local library, or if you’d like the link to the digital version, comment below 👇

My last training before my mat leave kicks in 👶🏼
It really is a privilege to spend time with people who want to learn more about ADHD!
The majority of people are changing their hearts and minds about their perspective of neurodivergence and wanting to meet people through a neuro-affirming lens!
Change is happening, slowly, but I have to remind people that we don’t create change through shame!
How we approach others we want to make changes matters.
Looking forward to getting back to delivering last training when I return, so lucky that there are already dates in the diary!

Since when did it become ok to claim a profession we have no training in?
And why are we not considering the damage being done to the Coachees?

We need you to know, that when someone decides to self-identify or get formally diagnosed with ADHD, that they have been on a journey long before they got to this point.
The assessment process is daunting, there are waiting lists and huge costs involved.
There are fears based on potential outcomes of the process and on the impact it has on a persons life.
The can ruminate on it from anywhere between 6 months to 3 yrs.
Hours are spent researching & discussing it with others.
And it is highly likely that they have changed their mind 9 times before making the appointment.
You need to know, people don’t just decide to get diagnosed, they have thought it through!

People often go back and fourth about whether they should seek a diagnosis in the first place, because what if they are told it’s all in their head?
While others, even after ADHD has been formally diagnosed, will question the validity of the assessment because how could they possibly, after all these years, have an answer for the struggles they have been experiencing, that would explain away their self-perception of being a failure 🤷🏻♀️
What I say to people is, if the question is in your head, and you the financial means to find an answer, knowing either way is better than wondering!
