A huge thank you to Sligo Sports and Recreation Partnership and Sligo Co Council for inviting Boxing Ireland / Sligo Boxing to take part in such a brilliant community event last weekend in Doorly Park, where children, teens, adults and families of all ages got active together in outdoor activities and sports. 🥊

Events like these are so important in promoting the power of inclusive sport. They create opportunities for everyone regardless of age or ability to build confidence, connect with others and discover the joy of boxing.

it was also a great opportunity to show case the incredible work being carried out by our local boxing clubs. Their dedication passion and commitment play a vital role in creating welcoming spaces where people can participate belong and thrive. 👊

Thank you to Boss man of Sligo Boxing Stephen Reynolds, along with Ballinacarrow Boxing Club Ballinacarrow BC coach Glen Gethins and and boxers Mia Gethins, Issy Nolan and Codie Kilgallon who stopped by, got involved and made the day a great success. 🙌🥊

Best Official Award - R&J goes to our very own Dino Dallet Ballymote Boxing Club at the Monkstown International Box Cup held at the weekend. 👏🥊

Dino's contribution to boxing extends far beyond the ropes. Through his work with schools and communities, coach education, reffing and judging and developing boxers of all ages in Ballymote BC, he has dedicated countless hours to growing the sport and creating opportunities for others. A thoroughly deserved recognition for a man who gives so much to boxing. 🙌🥊

A fantastic weekend for Gateway BC Sligo as Sophie Potter 70Kg wins gold by a second round stoppage. ! Another outstanding performance by young Sophie who claims gold for the second time at the Monkstown International Box Cup. 🥊🥇

Sophie's dedication and consistency continue to set her apart. She is now a two time Irish Champion, two time Monkstown Cup champion, Wexford Box Cup Champion , Golden Girls International Champion, and Riga Box Cup champion ( Latvia) - An incredible list of achievements, and testament to her dedication and work ethic ! Sophie undoubtedly has an exciting future ahead.
