A big thanks to Ben and Oisin for spinning the wheel after today’s Senior Men’s game and catching us up on two weeks of Split the Pot draws.

It wasn’t to be for the lads on the pitch, with Newbridge taking the win 32-24 at Streamstown. The Senior Men will regroup this week before heading to Portlaoise next Sunday.

Mervyn and Peter were on wheel duty this week as we got another Roscrea RFC Split the Pot draw underway.

There’s plenty to look forward to at Streamstown too, with our Senior Men starting their season next Sunday, 20 September, when they welcome Newbridge to Roscrea.

A new season, a home opener and hopefully a big crowd there to get behind the lads. 🏉

Our Senior Men are on the pitch tonight at 7.30pm.
Training runs Tuesdays and Fridays, and new players are always welcome. If you have been thinking about giving rugby a go, this is a great time to come down and get involved.

There is a strong atmosphere in the group, with players pushing each other, plenty of encouragement and well-structured sessions every week.

Our U13 Boys are back training and we’d love to add a few more players to the group for the season ahead. If your child is finishing up with GAA, this is a great time to give rugby a go. Training is Wednesday evenings at 6:30pm, with matches on Sundays.

Rugby is a great complement to other sports, helping young players develop strength, resilience, confidence, teamwork and respect while enjoying being part of a team.

No previous rugby experience is needed and players of all abilities are welcome.

Club President Mark Kelly is looking for people who would like to play a part in helping Roscrea RFC grow, particularly through our fundraising committee and the ideas that can support the club in the years ahead.

With Minis Rugby returning this Sunday, it is the perfect chance for parents and supporters to get a little more involved in club life.

You do not need to commit huge amounts of time or take on a major role. Helping with an event, lending a hand with fundraising, bringing a new idea to the table or simply giving a few hours when you can can all make a real difference.

If you are at the club on Sunday, just ask any club member how you can get involved and we will point you in the right direction.

The more people involved, the more we can do for our players, teams and wider club community.

MINIS & YOUTH RUGBY IS BACK!
From tonight, our Minis and Youth teams begin returning to training for the new season, and new players are always welcome.

Whether your child has played before or has never picked up a rugby ball, find their age group in the slides and bring them along to a session. Boys and girls of all abilities are welcome, with teams right through from Minis to Youth rugby, as well as our free Jedi Rugby programme for children with additional needs.

There is no pressure or commitment. Come down, meet the coaches, join in and give rugby a go.

We’re especially looking forward to seeing Streamstown full of kids, families and fun again on Sunday mornings as our Minis return at 10.30am. 🏉
