You have been warned!

Wicklow County Council is warning that leaving items outside bottle and textile banks is illegal dumping and could lead to a fine of up to €4,000.

The council says CCTV has now been installed at bottle banks across the county following a high volume of dumping.

Litter fines have also increased from €150 to €250 per offence since September 1st.

The council is also warning residents about unlicensed waste collectors and says a receipt is not a Waste Collection Permit.

Wicklow County Council is offering a free mattress collection on these specified dates.

- Pre booking is mandatory - no mattresses will be accepted without prior booking.

- These collections are for private households only and strictly limited to 4 mattresses per vehicle/household

- Only Mattresses will be accepted - No other bulky waste. Please also ensure that they are dry.

- Mattresses will only be accepted as part of the amnesty at the locations and dates specified

- No commercial vehicles allowed
