One pattern. Different tools.

The Redonda is one of the most recognisable striking patterns in Escrima, traditionally practised using double sticks.

But the real value is understanding the movement behind the pattern.

Here we break down the Redonda and show how the same principles transfer from double sticks to empty hand, and then to knife and stick.

The weapon changes. The movement remains.

Why do we still train with sticks?

For centuries, Filipino Martial Arts practitioners used sticks as a way to preserve and train the movements of blade combat. Today, those same tools are still used to develop timing, coordination, awareness and control

The stick isnโ€™t just a weapon, itโ€™s a training tool that teaches skills that carry across self defence, empty hand combat and weapon awareness
