🐂 Beef & Sheep Stock Judging 🐑

Well done to all that took part in the regional round of Beef & Sheep stock judging yesterday on the farm of David Condon & Family!

A huge congratulations to our winners on the day and the very best of luck as you progress to the National Round 👏🏼

Also very well done to Mitchelstown Macra who, not only hosted the event, but organised a very informative panel discussion where speakers from Kepak, ICBF, Dairygold and the local vets - James Dunne spoke about all things beef farming including CBV, TB, Feeding & Nutrition, Grading stock and much more!

Curious about what is it we actually do in Macra? Looking for a social outlet in North Cork?

Come along and meet our 7 clubs that make up the Avondhu Region i.e. North Cork 🤩

No commitment just come along and meet the people in the photos!

Whether your interest is sports, social outlet, trying new skills such as debating, drama, creative writing, quizzes, stock judging there is literally something for everyone! 🏐💃🏼🤸🏼‍♀️✍🏼🎭

We all started out exactly where you are and we haven’t looked back. The opportunities, experiences, skill and friendships we have gained are incomparable 🤩

So come along and see what it’s all about!

P.s. No it's not "just for farmers", about 1/3rd work in agriculture. It's an organisation for every profession once your between the ages of 18 and 40

The stock judging will be followed by a Panel Discussion from 1pm.
This is OPEN TO ALL to come along and listen to an interesting panel discussion including industry professionals where they share tips and talk about the herd.
Speaking of the herd it is made up of a commercial herd and Pedigree Limousin stock, who go by the Curracaher Prefix 🤩

A fantastic night of was had last night as members from every club across the region came together to enjoy a night out in Killarney 🤩

It would not have been possible without all the work our Regional Social Officers put into the organising of the evening and accomodation 👏🏼

The very best of luck to Freemount Macra member and previous Chairperson of the Avondhu Region Caroline O’Connell as she represents us this weekend! 👸🏼

There’s lots of activities planned this weekend visit Queen of the Castle Festival to see all of the activities planned, both for Queens and supports 🥂

Caroline will have her Queens on Stage interview on Saturday night and the Coronation of the 2026 QOTC will take place on Sunday night 👑
So make sure you pop up to Cahir for a weekend of fun and excitement!

🏆Regional Awards Night 🏆

As the Macra Year draws to a close we recognised all of the successes achieved throughout the region this year at our regional awards night 🤩

Clubs, teams and individuals displayed many talents and skills this past year in a wide range of competitions. From drama, public speaking, stock judging, personality contests, farm skills to every kind of sport you can think of we had it all 🙌

Congratulations to all winners and a big well done to all who continued onto national rounds where a number of national titles and placings were brought back to the Avondhu Region 🤩

A big well done must be extended to all participants and clubs for entering competitions and keeping the competition fierce throughout the year 😎

A big thank you must go out to our officers and organisers who worked tirelessly to organise all of the competitions throughout the year 👏

Many thanks to our social officers John and Doireann for organising a great night to recognise the successes 👏

Looking forward to another great year ahead be it on stage, on the pitch or in a pen judging cattle 😂
