Last Sunday our U8's took part in The Letterkenny Rvs U8's Tournament.
These boys were outstanding on the day and won two out off the three group games progressing to the Shield Semi Final. In the Semi Final we won on penalties and played Kilmacrennan in the Final losing out this time on penalties.
Big thanks to Luke Doherty for helping out coaching on the day.

💛⚽️ Under 12's Premier Cup 💚💛⚽️

Our U12s Premier team where on there travels this evening to play Letterkenny Crusaders at the Aura leisure centre.

The first half was a very cagey affair with both teams creating very little, clear cut chances in front of goal, until Ben Johnson struck a long range effort over the top of the keeper and into the back of the net to put us 1-0 up and that's how the half ended

Into the second half and the game started to open up with both teams creating a few decent chances, Rovers had there best chance of an equaliser when there striker went through on goal with just the keeper to beat but Jack Lynch came up with a great save to win us the game and send the boys into the cup final.

The boys put in a battling performance and they can now look forward to a cup final, which will be there last game playing at under 12's level.

We now await the results of Glenea v Milford to find out who we play in the final.

U14 Girls
Donegal Town 1 Lagan Harps 0

Donegal took the points in a really hard fought game at their fine new pitch in Killymard. Defences were on top for most of the game with very few chances. We had most of the possession in the first half with Ella Hamlyn and Aoife Foy doing well down the wings and Catherine Caldwell and Emily Mc Mahon doing well in midfield. But we failed to create any real chances. Ella Sharkey had to be alert to pull off two good saves when Donegal Town went close. Donegal Town started the second half better and almost took the lead from a corner. We did well to keep the ball out of the net with two or three vital blocks. We had a chance to take the lead when Caoimhe Sweeney went through bit her shot was blocked by the Donegal Town keeper. Minutes later Donegal scored the vital goal when they broke through the middle. Sophie Gillespie finishing well. The game opened up as we chased the equaliser. Caoimhe Sweeney hit the post and we couldn't finish off a goalmouth scramble after a corner. The girls battled away to the end with Donegal Town dangerous on the break. Amanda Caldwell and Clodagh Kavanagh had to make some last ditch tackles. A good effort by the girls who play their final league game on Thursday at home to Finn Valley. The game was well reffed by John Mc Glanaghy.

U14A Boys

Illistrin FC 0 Lagan Harps 1

Lagan Harps U14A boys travelled to Corry Park on Saturday evening to play their first game in the U14 Cup competition against Illistrin.
Playing against a strong breeze in the first half, the boys settled well into the game and snuffed out some early attacks from the home side.
We took the lead midway through the first half when Aaron reacted quickest at the backpost to slot home after the Illistrin keeper spilled a teasing cross in from Xavier. Illistrin pressed us for the remainder of the half but the boys dug in to lead 1-0 at halftime.
Playing with the aid of the breeze, the boys started the second half in determined fashion and had a few chances from Senan Doherty and Kayden to extend the lead.
Illistrin pressed on to try and find an equaliser but our back 5 of Adam, Senan S, Andrew, Michael & Alex defended resolutely to keep our lead intact. Eoghan, Shay & Senan Devenney all had late chances to increase our lead as Illistrin pressed forward in the last few minutes but in the end the 1 goal was enough for us to take the points.
Hard luck to a well organised Illistrin team who caused us lots of problems throughout the game and thanks to Stephen Hegarty for reffing the game.
Our next Cup game is at home on Sunday 27th Sep @ 11.30am against the league winners Glenea United.
