A huge THANK YOU to each and every person who helped make the 2026 Claregalway 8K Road Race such a success yesterday morning!

To everyone who took part, and especially those who travelled to join us, thank you for supporting our event. We hope you enjoyed it! Our sincere thanks also go to the clubs and organisations who helped promote and publicise the race; the Gardaí and First Aid personnel who provided invaluable support throughout; and the local residents and wider community for their cooperation and for allowing us the use of the area.

Thank you to Red Tag Timing for recording everyone’s fantastic achievements, and to the photographers for capturing race moments and memories from the day. Congratulations to our overall winners, Aaron Brennan (Galway City Harriers) and Ellen Bermingham (SouthGalway AthleticsClub.). A very special word of thanks to our wonderful stewards, marshals and club members, who gave so generously of their time to organise, prepare and oversee the running of the event. Your hard work and commitment are hugely appreciated — this race simply could not have taken place without you!

Yesterday evening, Clare River Harriers turned out in force with 25 club members taking part in the brilliant 2026 Medtronic Streets of Galway.

This year marked the 40th edition of this fantastic event, and it was great to see such a strong CRH contingent out on the streets of Galway, proudly representing the club and soaking up the brilliant atmosphere along the way.

A huge well done to all of our members who took part!

A big thank you and congratulations to for putting on such a well-organised event. Forty editions is a fantastic achievement, and the incredible atmosphere and support around the course made it another memorable night in Galway. The race has come a long way since it was first ran by CRH 1986 and it continues to be a highlight of the Galway Athletics calendar. We're already looking forward to taking part again next year!
