It is with great sadness that we learned of the passing of one of our greatest supporters and our Honorary President, Paddy “The Gare” Geary.
Since Shamrocks LGFA was reformed in 2013, initially as a Juvenile Club and then with the return of our Adult team in 2018, Paddy has been with us every step of the way. He rarely missed a game at any grade, always taking up his position on the sideline, keeping the scores and, more often than not, providing us with his invaluable advice!
Whenever a Shamrocks team won a Championship, there was no one prouder than Paddy. Seeing his grandnieces playing for Shamrocks made those moments even more special for him.
Paddy was a true Shamrocks supporter, and his presence, encouragement and friendship will be greatly missed by everyone involved with the club.
Our sincere sympathy goes to all the Geary family, the Murphy family and the O’Keeffe family at this very sad time.
Rest in peace, Paddy.
