Awful news. Some of our branch members had the privilege of officiating matches involving Aoibheann during LOI Academy games for CK United, and more recently in the Women's U19 Inter-League Final, where she proudly represented Wexford.
Our sincere condolences go to her family, friends, former coaches, teammates, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Rest in peace, Aoibheann.

⚽ Handling the Ball – Know the Law!

Not every contact between the ball and a player’s hand or arm is a handball offence.

✅ No offence if the arm is in a natural position or the contact is unavoidable.

❌ Handball if a player:
• Deliberately moves their hand/arm towards the ball.
• Makes their body unnaturally bigger with their hand/arm.
• Scores directly with their hand/arm or immediately after the ball touches their hand/arm, even if accidental.

Understanding these principles helps players, coaches, referees, and fans interpret one of football’s most debated laws.

Continuing our build up for the Provincial Blue Riband Final on Sunday, our two teams North End United AFC Wexford v Tallaght United FC are quietly going about their business training this week so we focus on who to watch in the LFA Junior Cup Final.

North End Striker Eoin Rhodes comes into the match in blistering form having scored 37 goals this season, (Best of my knowledge online check) with his team in the hunt for 3 trophies this season.

Tallaght United striker Jordan Hanley is also is fine form this season and is just 1 shy of hitting the 20 goal mark for the season and will surely hit that and more as they still have 4 trophies to play for and 11 games left in the league.

This game promises to be a tight affair .. Only 1 team will head home with the trophy, make sure you head to Home Farm FC Whitehall ground on Sunday 10th May - 2pm Kick Off.
