Play is any spontaneous or organized activity that provides enjoyment, entertainment, amusement, or diversion. While it involves a lot of fun, it's also important for Baby's motor, sensory, communication, and social-emotional development.

Baby milestones and abilities help you stay on track with Baby's progress and know when to expect certain developments.

🔹 Milestones: Milestones are key behavioral and physical checkpoints in Baby's development that should be reached by a particular age. If Baby doesn't reach a milestone, you should consult Baby's healthcare provider.
🔹 Abilities: Abilities are broad skills that cover Baby's overall behavior and development patterns. They help give a big picture look at Baby's progress. These were put together by the Pathways.org Experts.

It's important to be aware of your baby's milestones...

Milestones are key behavioral and physical checkpoints in children's development. Baby should be reaching specific motor, sensory, communication, and feeding milestones by their 9-month-old well-baby visit.

All our milestones are from American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and Center for Disease Control (CDC) materials. If your baby is missing a milestone, discuss this with Baby's healthcare provider.
