Croghan Calling

Well done to our One Wall Féile Team, Senan, Ollie, Tommy and George who travelled to Clogh Ballacolla yesterday. In the absence of a Division One competition there were 12 very strong teams in Division 2.
In their first group game we took on a talented St Brigid's side (Dublin). Our lads got off to a slow start going 10-2 down. However they fought back to within 4 points before the 15 minute time elapsed. On aggregate we were 10 points down going into our second game against Kilglass (Roscommon) who proved to be tough competition.
This is where the Coolgreany lads really stepped up. George and Tommy paired up to pull off some amazing serves and kills to win 21-9. Senan and Ollie then teamed to ensure we kept this lead. With some great returns of serves and rallies we won this game 35-23.
The boys narrowly missed out on a semi final spot but they had a fantastic day. There is always something special about these team events and they represented the club .with great pride and sportsmanship
A big shout out to Tommy who stepped up in the last week to ensure we had a team with Cian out injured. We wish Cian a speedy recovery and hope to see him back in the alley soon.

A hard fought final taking silver today! Well done George .

Well done to Paddy Byrne, Boys 13 and under nationals champion, beating George Foley from Coolgreany after finishing the 15 minute timed game at 12/12, Paddy won the tie breaker 5/4. Congratulations to both boys on a brilliant final 🏆🔴⚪️
