Matthew is heading in to Phase 2 with a smile.... π Hope everyone is doing well! We are still working hard to keep Matthew safe & well... not going to lie, it's been tough & tiring. I think children with complex needs, like Matthew are going to have a harder battle to get some sort of life back.
The phases are not going to mean the same thing for everyone so be mindful of this & try not to judge π

**REMINDER**
**THIS PHOTO IS NOT TODAY!!!** But this is for shock factor!! A few years ago, Matthew was taken by ambulance & minutes after this photo, he was taken into resus as he was vomiting, his airway full of mucus & couldn't maintain his oxygen levels.... Matthew had a "common cold"!! We do not know how Matthew would react to Covid-19. Gary & I are working so hard to keep him safe but with people not following guidelines & spreading the virus about, I don't know how much longer we can keep it away! Please, please STOP going to crowded places with your families, stop letting your kids out to play with others & try to reason with your teens to stay in!! We have to act like we have the virus & maintain physical/social distance. Lives depend on it!

I think it's safe to say that Matthew's Building Blocks, the support we got & Matthew's new rooms were the absolute highlights of our decade π Life-changing for sure!! π
Matthew's health has generally been good in recent months but he hasn't been well over Christmas. Today was a better day though π€ Wishing you & yours a very happy & healthy new year ππ₯

The struggle is real trying to get out & about with Matthew these days. The timing has to be right with "toileting", feeding & napping. Getting him in & out of the car takes time & energy, not to mention that chair is not exactly light-weight πͺ
However, we really do appreciate these lovely, short excursions when we can get them π We had a lovely hour in Newbridge π And we have an assessment for a powerchair this week... π€
Finally it's happening in Ireland ππ¨π§π©ππ‘ We hope it gets all the support it deserves!! The struggle is very real for people living in accommodation which is unsuitable for their needs. Matthew's extension was a life-changer & we wish everyone to be as comfortable at home, as he is now π
