Hi all. It’s been a tough few weeks and months for Muskerry RFC. Throughout each of the funerals the camaraderie shown has been inspirational. Thank you to all of you.
We’re turning a corner as a club and look forward to a new season of health and good fortune for all our members.

As you might know we’ve been given formal approval of our Sports Capital Grant and works are soon commencing on the top pitch. When works are completed we’ll have 2 pitches that can be played on throughout the winter and we’ll be able to facilitate properly the growing number of matches every week.
However, we urgently need to raise funds to cover the shortfall and avoid a large loan. We’re offering a 10 year adult membership package for €1000, a saving of €200. We need the money now. If you would like to support the club and are in a financial position to do so please lodge €1000 in the club account

Former Muskerry player Anthony Creed is attempting a Guinness record for running a marathon under 3:30 in full American football gear. He is also raising funds for IMNDA. All the best Anthony.

Inniscarra Sporting Memories tomorrow night Ballyanly commencing 7pm. This is a great opportunity to look back over great sporting occasions which took place in Inniscarra. The Inniscarra monthly draw will also commence on the night. There will be two draws taking place for the June & July months.

Once in a lifetime, the universe sends you a human being that changes everything. Howard arrived in Cork in the late 90’s with Yvonne and their young family. By some stroke of luck, they landed in Muskerry RFC. Since then Howard has been a coach, youth officer, tour organiser, team manager, club treasurer, linesman and scorekeeper. He has become an integral part of the club.

Away from Rugby, he was an amazing mountaineer and cyclist. He inspired many of us to take to the hills and drove us up hills around bends at speeds much too fast for mere mortals.

When he was diagnosed with MND in 2024, it was a devastating shock to all of us but he set his mind on living every minute. We embarked on many events and occasions where we thought we were helping keep his his spirits up but in reality, he was keeping our spirits up.

Our Thursday night sessions in the past 12 months have become legend when we toured the pubs of the parish with Howard, sang songs and raised funds for IMNDA. These are memories that we will cherish forever.

Howard passed away very peacefully yesterday in the company of his beloved family, Yvonne, Lewis and Katie. I bet there is a great game of rugby going on up there tonight.
