Well done to Patrick McKenna who recently organised a doubles blitz in the club to get the cobwebs blown off!

The blitz was round robin in format with games to 21 or 20 minutes - top two teams then competed in the final.

With 5 pairings this made for a good mornings handball with all games very competitive and just a few points deciding the top 2 teams in the end.

In the end it was the duo of Szymon Polewski & Joe Kelly who took home the honours, defeating CPJ & Johnny McKenna in the final.

Well done to Paddy again for organising, here's hoping we'll see more day competitions like this over the coming season for all grades.

🔵 Season starts: Week of October 12th

🏆 This year: We’re aiming to mix in more games, blitzes and challenge games alongside coaching, so hopefully plenty of fun and competition throughout the season.

📝 Groups will be sent out the 1st week of October. Children must be registered for the 2027 season to be included.

🆘 Help needed! We have nearly 100 juveniles and are a small crew, so anyone who can give a hand is very welcome. You don’t need to be a coach, even an extra pair of hands to assist in the court would make a massive difference.

🏆 DALY'S SUPERVALU TEAM LEAGUE IS BACK!

We're getting ready to kick off the Daly's SuperValu Aughnacloy Team League in the first week of October.

The league will run up until Christmas, with the knockout stages taking place in the New Year.

We're keeping it to a maximum of 12 teams, so if you'd like to take part, contact Eoin or DM this page. Know someone else who might be interested? Send them our way!

Format:
• Teams of 5, with 4 playing each week
• Teams made up of Grades 1–5
• One grade drops out each week. Grade 5 on week 1, Grade 4 on week 2 etc.
• Games will be best of 2 x 15, in line with the County Championships.
• Combined team total scores decides the winners.

Congratulations to Szymon who continued his great form this time in the one wall court at the Loughmacrory GAA Handball - Lough Showdown this weekend

He was beaten initially in the Mens B 1st round grade by the eventual winner Caolan McCartan.

🏆 Szymon then moved to the Mens C grade where he captured the Mens C singles title with victory over Oran McAleer in the final after previous wins against Joe Gallagher and Ruairi Kerr.

Well done to everyone in Loughmacrory for yet another well run tournament 👌

🏆 Ulster Champions!

Congratulations to Matthew Gibbons and Szymon Polewski on winning the Ulster 60x30 Junior B Doubles Championship today in Virginia, defeating clubmates Michael McLoughlin and Ryan Sherry in an all-St. Mellan's final. 👏

It's a remarkable achievement for Szymon, who has now won four Ulster Junior B titles this year across both the big and small alley. For Matthew, it's his first Ulster Junior B title, making it a day to remember.

Well done to all four players, and best of luck to Matthew and Szymon in the All-Ireland series! 💚🤍

🏅 Ulster 60x30 Doubles Junior B Final.

Its an all St Mellans Ulster Final Junior B final tomorrow in Virginia Handball Club - Cavan.

Matthew Gibbons & Szymon Polewski defeated Tyrone in the semi final 21:13, 21:14 (pictured) to reach the final where they will meet club mates Michael McLoughlin & Ryan Sherry who had a walkover vs Tyrone in the Semi.

The lads have a long spin to Virginia for the final tomorrow evening, whichever way it falls its great to have 2 club pairs in a 60x30 final.
