The u12A Div 5 team had a really strong week with two strong performances following a heartbreaking 2-3 defeat to Lakewood A on their first match of the season.

Thursday
1-1 draw away to Kanturk
Very good performance in Kanturk Thu evening and a strong start to the first half creating multiple chances. Finally scored when Sam O’Connor sent Oli Cotter through 1on1 to bury it past the Kanturk keeper. We really should have gone further ahead but were punished second half when Kanturk equalised from distance. The game finished in a stalemate but really felt like we left the 3 pts behind.

Saturday
7-2 away to Springfield Ramblers.
Superb performance in Stephen Ireland Astro in Cobh Sat morning. After going 1 down from a lovely free kick, the lads responded well with two Billy Moriarty goals from corners and a Charlie Fitzgerald tap in. Conceded a pen before HT but came out strong second half and Charlie knocked in 2 more for his hat-trick. 2 late goals from Ruairi Humphries sealed the victory and it was a really strong performance by all players involved.

Onwards and upwards we go 👌

Big week for our u12 Prem team with two badly needed wins v Mallow Town & Lakewood.

We started the season with 3 defeats on the bounce but the results weren’t a true reflection of the performances and effort.

Thursday:
4-0 win away to Mallow Town
Real strong performance with goals from Murray O’Grady x 2, Sam O Callaghan & the returning Charlie Keohane who made his comeback after a foot fracture. Superb performances all round and a well deserved first win of the season.

Sunday:
6-3 win away to Lakewood
Went 1 up through a Murray O’Grady header but conceded 3 in 10mins to go 3-1 down. The lads showed great resilience to get straight back into it from a Leon Fitzsimons rocket from distance. Charlie Keohane bagged a brace at the start of the second half before Leon got his second and the icing on the cake was a Zach O Mahony lob from 30yards to seal the win.

Great week for the u12 prem.

U15 PREMIER RESULT:

Leeds 1
Rockmount 2

A strong away performance from our U15s yesterday as they came from behind to secure all 3 points against local rivals Leeds.

Facing a strong wind in the first half, chances were limited and the sides went into the interval level at 0-0.

The second half saw the game open up, with Leeds taking the lead. Our lads responded positively, with captain Daniel O’Doherty bringing us level with a composed finish following an excellent long range assist from goalkeeper Alex Lynam.

The comeback was completed by Cian Ramsell, who produced an excellent free kick from distance to put Rockmount ahead and secure the victory.

A fantastic squad effort, with all 15 players contributing to a well deserved 3 points.

Thanks to Leeds for a competitive game and to our travelling supporters for their continued support.
