Clones Athletics Club Clones AC Running a Lifetime Clones Athletics Club, Clones, County Monaghan. Affiliated to the Athletics Association of Ireland.

A club for seniors and juveniles from the age of 9 upwards, from this cross border area. Recreational and competitive athletics supported. Training nights:

Tuesdays & Thursdays: 6.30-7.30pm, The Peace Link, Clones
9-12 years olds - Middle distance & Track and Field juveniles €2 per per athlete per night. Tuesdays & Thursdays
7.30-8.30pm The Peace Link, Clones
13+ yr juveniles and seniors. €2 per athlete

Annual Club membership €30 seniors, €20 juveniles, with discount of €5 for the second and each subsequent family member.

A few of our club members headed off early on Saturday morning to take part in the Omagh parkrun. Thank you to all the volunteers and runners who made everyone feel so welcome. Michelle Rice took on a windy Bundoran Promenade parkrun 👏 We also had members running in Monaghan and Cavan Parkrun 💙💛

Martha McDermott and Heather Darling were among the 7,500 runners who took to the streets of Belfast yesterday for the annual Belfast City Marathon Half Marathon.

Both ladies were very satisfied with their performances, with Martha setting a new PB by over a minute as she crossed the line in an excellent 1:41:15. Heather also came close to her personal best for the 13.1 miles, finishing in 1:58:56. Congratulations to both Martha and Heather on two fantastic performances!

This weekend saw many of our athletes out running all over the country and beyond, taking part in races and Parkruns.

On Saturday morning, four Clones AC runners took on one of the most scenic races, the Born 2 Run Break 4 the Border Half Marathon, starting in Newry and finishing in Carlingford. Well done Ciaran, Niall, Sarah & Aidan.

Saturday morning also saw club members heading off to Parkruns in lots of different locations including, Listowel, Ballina, Sedgefield, Monaghan, Cootehill, & Cavan.

Caroline Crowe took part in the Dromiskin 5K on Saturday evening!! Well done Caroline 👏

Huge congratulations to Monica Cadden on completing the world-renowned Great North Run in Newcastle yesterday.

Well done to everyone who got out and got the miles in this weekend. Another fantastic weekend of running. 💙💛

Another busy weekend kicked off on Saturday morning with a category win and 8th Female Overall in 1:35:05 at the Di**le Marathon Half Marathon by Irene Clements.

Later that evening, at the Ardee & District Athletic Club 10K & 5K, Eileen Hall took the F50 10K category win in 44:17.

Aaron Hall podiumed, placing 2nd Male Overall in the 10K in an excellent 35:26, while Caroline Crowe finished 2nd in the F50 5K in 21:36.

On Sunday, the focus switched to the Waterside Half Marathon in Derry, where debutants at the distance David Flynn (1:35:35) and James Flynn (1:50:28), along with Sharon Fitzpatrick (2:03:15), were out in the club vest.
Huge congratulations to everyone who raced over the weekend!!

And a special mention to all our members who fly the club colours at Parkruns all around the country every weekend.

We are back with a bang for the 2026/2027 season 💙💛

A huge contingent of Clones AC athletes took part in the Lisnaskea 5km on a very warm and sunny Friday evening.

Big congratulations to Aaron Hall who crossed the line in 2nd place in an amazing time of 17:08.

Congratulations also to Eileen Hall who placed 1st in the Women's O50 category in a fantastic time of 21:43. Well to done Barry and all the crew for organising such a brilliant event 👏

On Saturday, another group of Clones AC headed to the Con Smith Parkrun in Cavan. Well done.

The National 10 Mile Championships took place in humid conditions despite the 9am start in the Phoenix Park on Sunday 19th July.
Having lost out on a Technical rule on the Half Marathon title in Cork our Female Over 50 team had a point to prove. The team was led home by Irene Clements who was a comfortable winner of the F65 category whuch was her 5th National Road title of 2026. Irene was ably backed up by superb person ld by Bernie Mc Adam and Eileen Hall who 6th & 10th in the F50 age group. With an aggregate time of 3.38.20 our ladies took the TeamGold in the F50 category that they strived for with Mullingar Harriers their closest rivals 58 seconds behind our trio.
Massive congratulations to the three of you 🥇🏆💙💛

Our very own Emily Connolly proudly represented Clones AC at the 'Run with Ciara' event at the Irish National Championships at Morton Stadium on Sunday in celebration and acknowledgement of the wonderful Ciara Mageean.

Last Sunday at the National B Track & Field Championships in Tullamore, Katie Linden took Silver in the Girls U16 100m. Katie had earlier won her Semi Final in a PB of 13:05 and backed that up in the final with 13:09. Congratulations Katie.
