Creating meaningful internship opportunities requires understanding on both sides! As part of our YES: Youth Employment Skills project, IN-PLANET and ZIP present “Intern Tips for Employers”—a video resource and practical guide designed to support businesses and organizations hosting young interns.

Shaped by real insights gathered during hands-on study visits in both urban (Riga, Athens) and rural (Liepāja, Larissa) regions, our youth workers met directly with diverse companies to understand their needs, expectations, and challenges.

🔎 What Employers Will Gain: ✔️ Structured Onboarding & Mentorship: Practical ways to guide young professionals taking their first steps in the workplace.

✔️ Bridging Communication & Skills Gaps: Adaptable methods tailored to different industries and local labor realities.

✔️ Inclusive Internship Culture: Practical solutions to help overcome barriers faced by young people with fewer opportunities.

By equipping employers with clear guidance, we are fostering more inclusive workplaces and building stronger bridges between young talent and the labor market! 🌟

🌊 Day 10: The Grand Finale of the Trash Art Project! 🎓✨
What an emotional, inspiring, and unforgettable final day! Today we closed the loop on our 10-day journey by reflecting on how much we have grown, making lasting commitments to our planet, and celebrating our new skills.

Here is how we spent our final day together:

💼 Green Entrepreneurs: Working in mixed international teams, participants channeled everything they learned about upcycling and sustainability to design and present their very own eco-friendly business models. The future of green enterprise is looking bright!

🪨 Promises to the Sea: In a deeply symbolic activity, everyone collected a stone from the beach, wrote a personal promise to the environment on it, and threw it into the sea—sealing our commitment to protecting nature long after this project ends.

🕵️‍♂️ Secret Friend Reveal: After days of anonymous kindness and dynamic group energy, we finally revealed our "secret friends" in a hilarious and heartwarming way!

🔄 Full Circle Reflection: We sat down to revisit the fears, expectations, and contributions we wrote down on Day 1. It was incredible to see how many fears disappeared and how many expectations were completely exceeded.

🇪🇺 Youthpass Ceremony: To wrap up the official program, participants reflected on the key competencies they gained over the last 10 days and officially received their Youthpass certificates—a valuable European recognition of their non-formal learning journey.

Thank you to every single participant, partner organization, and leader who made this project an absolute masterpiece of art, teamwork, and environmental action! 🌍❤️🎨

The day 8 of the Trash Art program started with a visit to the nursery of Kostas Fligkos. The participants had the opportunity to learn about various trees and flowers 🌹.
In the afternoon the participants put their environmental sign planting two trees in the area of our camp and cleaning 🧹 the beach 🏖️.
The day finished with our participation in the annual festival of the village of Alissos with traditional music and dances.

🌍 Day 6 of the Trash Art Project: Led by the Participants! 🎭🎨

Today, our amazing participants took full control! Teams from each country were challenged to design and lead their own creative workshops focused on sustainability and environmental action.
Here is what our youth leaders brought to the table:
🇬🇷 The Greek Debate Challenge: The Greek team set up "Agree, Disagree, or Neutral" stations. They sparked intense debates by setting tough statements about banning fast fashion, single-use products, and the environmental impact of AI etc.
🇨🇾 The Cypriot Interactive Theatre: The Cypriot team combined drama with social psychology! They staged short plays about environmental malpractice, forcing the audience to break the "bystander effect" by stepping right into the performance to stop the bad practices.
🇷🇸 The Serbian Mystery Art Gallery: The Serbian group challenged everyone to create "secret" trash art with hidden meanings. Teams then used strategic questions to guess and interpret the abstract forms created by their peers.
It was an incredible day of peer-to-peer learning, critical thinking, and boundless creativity! 👏✨
