In the recently concluded FIBA Zone 2 tournament in Thies, The Gambia boys and girls will be coming back home with silver and bronze medals after winning Mauritania in the third-place playoff and losing to Senegal in the gold medal matchd match for the girls at Sat Lat Dior in the heart of Thies. The girls lost to Senegal in the final, and the boys won bronze after a win over Mauritania. Teams were managed by Adama Barrow and Daniel Nyaki🏀🏀🇬🇲

Later on today, the Gambia Basketball team U-16 Boys will play Mauritania in the bronze game of the FIBA Zone 2 in Thies, and the Girls side, headed by coach Adama Barrow alias Blaster, will play Senegal in the finals, a side that they lost to in the group stages of the competition.

Whatever the case may be for the girls, it will be a giant step of improvement in this category compared to the last time in 2024, when Gambia won bronze after beating Guinea-Bissau. 🏀🇬🇲

Gambia U-16 Boys lose to Cape Verde in the semi-finals of the FIBA Zone 2 championship in Thies, Senegal. The Scorpions in basketball will now dust up and get set for the bronze medal game, while the Girls Scorpions will be playing in the final and will be anticipating a win against neighbors Senegal and bringing home gold. 🇬🇲🏀

2.0 of the PlusJeuf 3x3 basketball tournament in the Gambia was successfully staged. Kudos to all the participants, athletes, teams and the beautiful spectators as well, who were on the lawn from 3:00 till 22:00. BRAVO!

The second edition features 8 Male teams and 4 female teams who both competed tensely and wholeheartedly to get the win for their respective clubs.

Hope SK East won the gold medal in both male and female categories, beating BBA and Westside in the finals.🇬🇲🏀

Despite the circumstances of the rain yesterday, today Coach Adama Barrow and her charges took the lawn for more training and basic finishing ahead of the next trip to Dakar. The 2026 FIBA Zone 2 will no longer take place from the 27th of July, but instead from the 26th to the 30th

All ten Players were available except Mariama B. Jallow due to some circumstances. Assistant coach Rohey Cham was also present at the training ground.
