Gaziantep pulled one back after Arise scored an own goal, setting up a tense finish, but Rizespor held on to claim all three points.

The goal marks Ali Sowe's first of the season, providing an important contribution to Rizespor's away victory.

His outstanding display takes his tally to 24 goals in 15 appearances for Huima/Urho this season.

Kemo Ceesay has been elected as the new President of the Gambia Football Federation (GFF), succeeding Lamin Kaba Bajo.

Ceesay takes charge of the federation following the 2026 GFF Elective Congress held today, Saturday, August 29.

The former GFF Finance Director now begins a new four-year mandate at the helm of Gambian football, with expectations high for the new administration to build on the progress made in recent years and further develop the game across the country.

Ceesay had campaigned on a platform centred on transparency, accountability, good governance, grassroots development and greater opportunities for stakeholders across Gambian football.

Head coach Abdoulie Bojang and his technical staff have selected an initial list of 30 players, with clubs already informed.

First screening phase starts Monday, 31 August, focusing on Second Division players.

More screening phases will follow as the coaching staff work to finalize the squad.
