On Sunday we’re hosting Surrey Over 70’s in a special, one-off match in memory of ex WPCC Chairman and Surrey stalwart Mike Byford. Get yourself down to Green Lane from 1pm, with extended tea from 3.30ish

🚨MIKE BYFORD MEMORIAL MATCH 🚨

In honour of WPCC ex-chairman and hard hitting left-handed batsman, Mike Byford, we are hosting Surrey over-70’s, this Sunday, for a one-off memorial match!

Those of you that had the pleasure to meet or play with Mike will know that he played the game hard but fair and made time to talk to anyone and everyone off the field!

It would be lovely to see as many past and present players and supporters down at Green Lane to celebrate Mike’s life and cricketing career, which also included representing Surrey (and maybe England) in the over 60 and 70 sections 🏏

The match will start at 1pm, with an extended tea break (with food available for supporters) at around 3.30pm, followed by the unveiling of a brand new memorial bench in honour of Mike 💙

Nathan Andrews with back to back half centuries to see the 1s home after the spinners claimed 8 wickets earlier in the day!

The 3s defended 103 thanks to the returning .amaar who took 4 scalps to go with his middle order runs!

On Sunday, the colts impressed in defending 136, chipping in with 5 wickets to support the evergreen Larry, who picked up 3-6, after George Capleton produced another 49 with the bat!
