Leadership Skills!
Moses secured a distinction in his Leader in Adult Care apprenticeship standard (level 5). Here is what he had to say!
“The apprenticeship was for Leader Adult Care of which after completion I should be able to support staff, improve the quality of care, promote person centred care and ensure that safeguarding, health and safety, medication and CQC standards are consistently maintained. I also hope to contribute to the development of my organisation by supporting audits, staff supervision and continuous improvement, etc. I will also continue to develop professionally.
I learnt about the above-named skills, mainly about how to execute them and achieve positive outcomes for the people we support. My confidence, knowledge and leadership skills have improved. I am able to give some informed advice to my team and people we support.
I am able to support my colleagues when they are not sure about the task or procedure and encourage them to ask questions rather than make assumptions. I find I am sharing more knowledge like sharing about safeguards, medication, communication and care plans. I feel I am better at leading by example by demonstrating good communication, respect, dignity and encourage staff positive examples.
I remain alert to signs of abuse, neglect or change in behaviour and report concerns according to safeguard procedures advocating for people, and promote well-being.
I would like to thank my tutor who was patient and approachable and always took time to explain areas for improvement. This improved my confidence and helped me apply what I learned to my everyday practice.
I would like to thank my assessor for continuous support and constructive feedback. The assessment process encouraged me to reflect on my practice and demonstrate how my knowledge could be applied in real life situations; this encouraged me to continue developing my leadership skills.
I am grateful to my employer for giving me the opportunity to undertake this apprenticeship. This experience has helped me to develop professionally and has increased my confidence in taking on leadership responsibilities.
I would like to thank my colleagues for their teamwork, encouragement and willingness to share their knowledge and experiences with me. Their support has encouraged me to communicate more effectively, work collaboratively and reflect on my own practice.
I am very grateful to everyone who contributed to my apprenticeship journey. The apprenticeship has not only increased my knowledge but has also strengthened my confidence, leadership skills and commitment to providing safe, person-centred and high-quality care.”

Who doesn’t love some employer feedback like this?
“I have observed Luke twice this week in line with my EQA qualification, Mike, can I just add what an amazing assessor Luke is, his level of detail and how he draws the knowledge from the learner is to be commended.
He has played such a significant part in getting the learners through their qualification and achieving distinctions.”

Christina was so happy to get a distinction in her Children and Young People Family Manager level 5 apprenticeship standard. It was well deserved. Here is what Christina had to say:
“Just wanted to say a huge thank you to the Achieving Excellence team and especially my tutor Charlotte.
Throughout my whole course I received continuous support, constructive feedback and encouragement. There were moments which I found very difficult, and Charlotte was there to help guide me and give me the confidence I needed to continue.
Even right at the end before my end point assessment, when panic began to take over me, she was able to calm me down and keep me positive.
She went above and beyond and always responded quickly to any questions I had throughout my course.
Through her teaching, advice and assessment, I was able to learn so much. It helped me learn the structure of setting up a supported accommodation and how improve our current policies and procedures. It mainly taught me about the different management styles and how important it is to understand that each member of staff is different, and their learning style, management and motivation may be encouraged in different ways.
The apprenticeship gave me significantly more confidence to lead staff meetings and know the best way to manage a team.
Thank you everyone.”

A huge well done to Maria for securing a distinction in her Children and Young People Family Practitioner (level 4) apprenticeship standard. Maria shared this feedback with us:
“Thank you so much for the opportunity for me to achieve the qualification. I have finished my Diploma and apprenticeship with positive energy and passion.
I have completed many studies in my life, but I must say I have found Tamzin (Achieving Excellence tutor) to be the most inspiring person. Always there for me, even on her weekends off, and taking time on a Saturday night for my observation of supervision. She has been there anytime I needed help and support above and beyond teaching and assessment. She helped me to understand legislation and respected that learning in a language that's not your first spoken language can be challenging at times.
She made me believe in myself when my confidence was low.
I have always found Tamzin,
• Approachable and friendly, always helps me to improve.
• Respecting different learning styles and personalities
• Offering guidance, advice, tips, and alternatives
• Positive attitude and excellent communication
I appreciate the effort she put into my endpoint assessments and my presentation; she helped me get over the line!
I could literally write another essay on how grateful I am to Tamzin for helping me achieve this qualification. I am still standing strong, believe in myself, and I am aiming for more achievements in my life because of Tamzin!
Tamzin, it's been an absolute pleasure to work with you, and I feel blessed to be working with you.
I will truly miss and you will always be a person who brings wonderful memories into my life.”
We are so grateful for our amazing teaching staff!

Meet Virpal, she secured an amazing merit in her Lead Adult Care Worker apprenticeship. A huge well done and thanks to Shahla, her tutor.
“I recently completed my level 3 lead adult care worker apprenticeship standard, and passed my end point assessment with a Merit grade.
Throughout this journey, I learned many new skills and behaviours that I was not aware from them. such as, Human Rights Act, British Values, The Care Act 2012, 2014, Discrimination, Safeguarding, how to fulfill care core duties towards my job roles and new responsibilities.
This is really greatful experience for me and by doing this course I gained an enormous and valuable knowledge.
In this journey I had an experienced tutor with good sense of humour. She always was there for me. Her way of teaching inspired me. Every single unit she made it easy for me to understand and I really spent great time with her throughout my sessions.
I thankful all staff at Achieving Excellence UK Ltd and the Highfield team who provide me this opportunity.”

Chloe secured a distinction in her Children and Young People Family Practitioner Level 4 apprenticeship standard. Huge congratulations to her! Here is what she fed back to us:
“Luke (Achieving Excellence tutor) was professional throughout making it easy for me to share my queries or concerns I had throughout my course. This included the times I felt my employer was not offering me allocated course work hours, flexible to the shift work nature, of the role. Luke advocated for me and helped me to communicate my needs effectively.
On my learner journey I faced different challenges, Luke’s response throughout was consistent, offering solutions, finding alternatives and above all being so positive.
One of my challenges at times was responding to Luke’s communications. He remained patient and flexible in his approach, and utilised both email and text to ensure I was reached. This was helpful above and beyond our regular calls, or teaching sessions.
Luke’s professional experience in a residential setting remained highly beneficial throughout my learning. He was able to provide authentic examples of supporting young people which often supported me understanding the questions better but also encouraged professional reflection throughout. Both my employer and I have seen improvements in my practice as a result.
There were many times I believed I wouldn’t finish this course, and whether or not Luke believed it he always told me I would.
So Thank you very much because now I have a grade higher than I imagined I’d get. :)”

This is Alice, she successfully passed her Lead Adult Care Worker apprenticeship standard. We wanted to offer this wonderful feedback:
“When I started the course a year and 3 months ago, I was not sure what to do mainly after the introduction to the course, as it can be overwhelming, then along the way I have been so blessed I was assigned to Teresa who has been ever ready to help and support me.
With Teresa lessons, they were always engaging and tailored exactly how to help me learn. She was always very patient and yet prompt, whenever I was overwhelmed or stuck, she was aware. She would regularly send me messages to see if I was doing alright with the course work.
You know sometimes life gets in the way, being a full-time working mother with studies has not been easy but whenever I explain myself to Teresa, she always makes me feel encouraged and helps me get back on track.
I genuinely enjoyed the subject and even at my work place they have noticed a big difference in how I serve and support my clients!
Teresa is an exceptional tutor who genuinely cares about student success. She is highly skilled at identifying and fixing learning gaps and she never made me feel bad for asking questions.
Thank you”
