Just because your dog may be getting older, dont just think 'its old age' ask queations, is this new behaviour out of the ordinary? Have they always walked like that? Always look a little deeper, ask questions, seek help, get opinions....mum noticed some odd habits in me a few years ago, contacted a physio, spoke to the vets: mum caught my arthritis in time: i have physio every month and hydro every other week, and im doing so well.
People who have followed me a while know just how much I helped mum with her own health struggles, and ahe has always said she owes me everything....i think we are a team! Yes, i am deaf, and my eyesight is failing, but i am still me,!

Celebrating my 15th birthday tomorrow!!! (Its a guess going on vets estimates!) Ive had my physio today with the wonderful Jessica Parker Veterinary Physiotherapy followed by hydro at Burntwood Canine Hydrotherapy! Mum says she is going to have a midgey day tomorrow, so we shall see! :) happy birthday eve to me! (And yes, i will be having a drink of tea!)

Mum says I will be 15 in August!! Apparently thats really good? (Hopefully ithat ncludes my own weight in bunny lugs and treatos!) Ive just had a little dancing session and physio this evening, and I have loved every single second! When mum first started training me, she taught me hand signals and words so I could work with both: its a good job too: my ears dont work like they used to, but i can still see those hands!! :) I am one happy squiggy today!!

Its warm!! I love the heat, but even ive struggled recently! Dad was so worried about me, he got a portable aircon to help! Currently chilling in the front room with the fan on! Brachy dogs, Large dogs (turbo!) Younger dogs and older dogs really struggle when its too hot. Keep a check on them and make sure they dont overheat! Even an ice pack in front of a fan can really help cool the air! Stay safe folks!!

Its a heatwave! We were going to be camping this weekend, but its far too hot. Ive been struggling as im almost 15: dads been keeping an eye on me when mums working: we have a portable ac (woohoo!) Fans and cool coats: enrichment is tricky as training can take a lot of effort in this heat: lickimats and yoggie pots are fab, as are frozen treats....stay cool, stay safe and walk early in the morning or late in the evening!!

Lovely sniffy walk with aunty steph from Treats2sit4 today!! Really tired now, but I had a blast! Made better by the tasty lolly when we got home....it didnt last long!!

As your dog gets older, it can be hard work! Im 14.5 now (we think: im a rescue) and i have daily pain meds (puppy tablets!) For my arthritis, daily excercises to help my muscles, bi monthly hydrotherapy and monthly physiotherapy and laser therapy: yep, mum is my taxi!! Mum thinks i have a little dementia now too, so we are now working on brain games to help me :)
I still throw my dish at mum for a cup of tea, and i do know when its dinner time: precisely 30 mins after my puppy tablet!! :)

Ive decided we need aome new wheels: the Batmobile will do bol! Lightening mcqueen is fun, but gutted paddingron didnt share!!

We were camping at the weekend!! Dad competes in archery, so we were his cheering squad! I had my pyjamas for nightime, (kept mum and dad awake the first night as I wouldnt get off the bed, then managed to fall off it!) Saturday was fab, and got some sunbathing in! What a great weekend: i loved it!!
