This afternoon we welcomed Hawkins Sport to Walsall for our second game of the season.

The first half was a bit below our usual standards, and we went into the break 0-0, not really playing our normal football.

But what a difference in the second half!

We came out with a completely different attitude, stepped the football up and went up another gear. We started moving the ball much better, created chances and played some really good stuff.

The hard work paid off as we came away with a fantastic 4-0 victory, with four well-taken goals.

A much-improved second-half performance and plenty of positives to take forward. We wish Hawkins the best for the rest of the season. 👏🏻⚽️

On Saturday 8th August we welcomed Watstones Wanderers to our place and came away with a 5-0 win.

A really positive pre-season performance with plenty of chances created, some excellent football on show, and most importantly more valuable minutes in the legs for the squad as we continue building towards the new season.

A big thank you to Watstones Wanderers for the game and we wish everyone at the club the very best for the season ahead.

Attention now turns to our final pre-season fixture this Saturday, which will also be a charity game against Shirebrook FC U23s. We’d love to see as many people there as possible to support the team.

A good run out for the lads last night in our friendly against Hawkins Sports. We came away with a 3–2 win, but in truth that scoreline didn’t really reflect the game. We played some really good football at times and should have scored a few more.

It was a great opportunity to give our new players some valuable minutes, and there were some very encouraging performances all over the pitch.

Pre-Season Friendly | Saturday 25th July

A good run out for the lads on Saturday against Leicester Premier-based side Friar Lane & Epworth.

The result finished 4–0, with a few sloppy goals gifted away, but that’s what pre-season is for—learning, improving, and building fitness ahead of the new campaign. There were plenty of positives to take from the game, and it was another valuable workout for the squad.

We turn our attentions to Wednesday night fixture against Hawkins sports at home as we continue our pre-season, giving our new lads and trialists another opportunity to impress and stake their claim for the season ahead.

Pre-Season So Far

Our pre-season campaign is well underway, with two valuable games giving the squad important minutes and opportunities to build fitness.

We began with a 4-0 defeat against Stourport Swifts Alliance. Despite the scoreline, there were positive spells throughout the game, and it was a good first outing for the squad. The main focus was getting minutes into the players’ legs and continuing to work on our shape and understanding as a team.

Our second fixture saw us record a 3-1 victory over Tipton Town Development. It was a much-improved performance, with plenty of positives to take away. The players showed great attitude and quality throughout, giving us a strong platform to build on as pre-season continues.

A big thank you to both Stourport Swifts Alliance and Tipton Town Development for the game and providing excellent opposition. We wish both clubs all the best for the upcoming season.
