🎉 I just recorded my very first podcast episode! 🎙️⚽

I had the absolute privilege of sitting down to talk all about a team that is so close to my heart:

Blaby & District Spartans Inclusive FC

We chatted about what makes this club so special, the incredible community we’ve built, and why inclusive football matters so much.

Joining the football club has been a massive milestone for me personally, so getting the chance to share our story on a podcast was an unforgettable experience.

Huge thank you to Baza Beighton from B & B Property Services Ltd for inviting me and giving me the chance to tell our story and how we have worked together during this incredible journey and what you as a company have done to support us as a Charity.

I can’t wait for you all to hear the episode when it drops! Stay tuned for the link. 🎧💙⚡⚽️

Blaby & District Spartans Inclusive FC only have Inclusive, SEN and Pan Disability Players.

Let me break it down for you

🫶 We are a registered Charity

⚽️ Every Saturday we train U8s, U12s U16s and 3 x different skill levelled adult teams.

⚽️ Every other Thursday we offer FREE Men’s Mental Health Friendly Football to men over the age of 18. This is open to anyone within or outside of the club.

⚽️ During the school holidays we offer 6 weeks of SEN Multi-Activity Holiday clubs to give kids with SEN an outreach to access and giving parents the opportunity to work or take well deserved rest bite.

🤔 Why do we do all this??? Thats easy, because we give a Sh*t

⚽ Coaching or Poaching?

There’s a big difference between coaching players and poaching players.

Coaching is about developing what’s in front of you, helping players grow, giving them confidence, creating an environment where they can fail, learn, and improve.

Poaching is about chasing what someone else has developed. Taking short cuts. Building a “winning” team by collecting players others have worked hard to nurture.

And the sad part?

Not all coaches can coach or develop all players, we are Blaby & District Spartans Inclusive FC and we only coach SEN / Inclusive players, (6 to open age adult) and it takes a certain type of coach to develop these players and not all coaches can do it.

If you think coaching mainstream kids is difficult then try to coach SEN / Inclusive and see the struggles you have as a coach and the struggles the players have.

Many clubs set up a small SEN / Inclusive provision within their club to obtain another star on their accreditation but do not have the right skill set to work with these players so they wait until players are at a certain level and then then poaching begins

It’s usually the kids that lose out because their learning stops and doesn't progress.

Because when coaches and clubs chase results instead of development, they forget that the real success is creating players who love the game and keep coming back.
