It might be late in the season, but last night SCC got a taste of racing.
On 13 August, some of our members headed over to Berkshire for a 10 mile time trial on course HCC234, hosted and organised by MDCC - Maidenhead and District Cycling Club
Some of us went 2up. Some went solo. One comes with company. The other comes with nobody to blame when the legs go quiet. 😄
Well done to everyone who took part.
Some serious times and power numbers came in last night, and it was hot out there too. A big thanks to Maidenhead & District CC for hosting. This is only the beginning.
From 2027 we are planning to get more members into local races and time trials. We are just getting started, and last night felt like a good first step.
If you are local to Weybridge and fancy a club that rides together and is now lining up for a bit of racing too, request a free demo ride. We are over 180 members and growing.

At Surrey Cycling Club we love a good challenge, and over the last few years our special rides have steadily got longer, slightly crazier, and somehow even more fun.
Last weekend was a perfect example.
What started as a plan for a 30 plus rider peloton, spread across a few groups, ended up as a team effort from just three riders.
Welcome to the M25 Loop Challenge.💪🏻
Rafal, Peter and Tanya rolled out early from our HQ in Weybridge with one simple idea, follow the M25 orbital as closely as is sensible, and see what it takes to get it done.
The result was a proper day out. Over 230 km, around 2,000 metres of climbing, and a big reminder that the hardest part of a long ride is the bit after you tell yourself it is basically flat.
We headed clockwise and settled into the rhythm. First proper stop at around 115 km for refuelling, because pride is great but carbs are better.
At around 150 km we ticked off a first for us, the Dartford Crossing. We were told that most weekends a group of cyclists turns up with the exact same idea, so at least we are not the only ones with questionable hobbies.
The return leg brought the heat, lumpier roads, and that familiar end of day mix of tired legs and good spirits. But the job got done. One to remember.
Next up, in August we are looking forward to another one, tracing the Surrey county border. Nearly 300 km. Sensible choices will be made, probably.
If you are local to Weybridge and fancy joining a friendly club that rides regularly and still makes room for big adventure days, request a demo ride and come say hello.

Surrey Cycling Club is growing, and we are proud of what the club has become. 🎉
Last year we celebrated five years as a club in September 2025, and what stands out most is not just the miles. It is the community. ❤️
Friendly riders, properly organised rides, and people who look after each other. From the first hello 👋🏻 at HQ to the last pull on the way home, it feels like a club where everyone belongs.
To mark the milestone, we also levelled up the kit. We are excited to welcome Gobik our new kit partner, and together we have developed premium club kit in two designs.
Our Anniversary design is made to celebrate how far we have come, while our Classic design keeps the SCC identity strong and familiar. Either way, it is kit you will want to wear, and kit that feels great when you are deep into a long ride.
Inspired by the Surrey county flag, the kit carries our navy and yellow colours with pride. It is designed to look the part and perform on the bike, and it is a reminder that when you pull on SCC colours you are part of something bigger.
Riding wise, we keep it varied. Social spins when you want a friendly chat and a café stop, regular club rides and longer 100 km days, plus fast paced training rides and paceline sessions for anyone chasing fitness. Whatever your riding looks like, there is always someone to ride with.
On the road, SCC is not just weekends anymore. We have rides happening throughout the week, posted by members who step up as Ride Captains and use our library of trusted routes. Summer favourites include Wednesday evening rides to Windsor or Richmond Park, and the Friday breakfast ride at 6.30am, the one that always feels like a brilliant idea, right after the alarm stops ringing.
Special thanks to Roger for the amazing photos from our very early Richmond Park sessions last month. 📸 Roger Brown | UK Wedding Photographer

SCC in Annecy. The trip is on. 🇫🇷🚴
From 19 June our riders swapped Surrey lanes for the French Alps and honestly, Annecy has not held back.
Blue skies from day one. Proper heatwave temperatures. Roads that wind up into the mountains and just keep going. This is what we came for.
Day 1 was our welcome to the Alps moment. Rolling out together through stunning Aravis villages, climbing up to La Clusaz for a well earned coffee, then grinding up Col des Aravis with views that made the pain worth it.
Day 2 riders split into groups. Some went deep into the Bauges mountains on quiet peaceful roads through tiny traditional villages, proper hidden gem cycling. Others took the famous Lake Annecy loop, turquoise water the whole way round, lakeside towns, great coffee stops and legs that actually felt good for once.
Now here is what is still on the menu.
Col de la Marocaz. Long valley roads through the Bauges. A full day in the saddle under the Alpine sun..
And Day 4 is the finale, with options for every kind of rider. A classic summit climb above Annecy, a longer Aravis loop, or an epic Beaufort adventure for anyone who still has something left in the tank.
Stay tuned for more updates. It is not over yet. 👀

Hello from a very sunny England ☀️
The weather is finally treating us well and it genuinely feels like summer has arrived!
Today was also a special Sunday for us as we completed our first coaching session with our club coach Lizi Brooke . We met at Richmond Park and spent two hours practising, learning and building confidence on the bike. Of course, there was also time for a coffee stop and a good catch up afterwards ☕🚴
We also had plenty of club rides out today across G3, G4 and G5+ groups, with G5+ bringing the faster training pace.
If you are looking for a fast growing social cycling club with plenty of club rides, while also keeping performance and structured training in mind, visit our website and join us today.
Have a wonderful weekend and Bank Holiday!

Happy May the 4th, Surrey cyclists!
A long bank holiday weekend, beautiful weather and Surrey roads. Hopefully you made the most of it, because the Legs of Steel event on Saturday isn’t going to ride itself.
What a weekend it’s been though. Groups upon groups have been rolling out of Weybridge, clocking up miles and miles on the weekly leaderboard. From our regular club rides heading off in every direction imaginable, to gravel adventures down to Brighton and beyond, the turnouts have been honestly unbelievable. Week on week, Surrey Cycling Club members continue to show up and show out. Massive kudos to every single one of you! 👍🏻👏🏻
And if you thought the weekend was good, wait until you see this week. We have rides posted every single day, yes, every single day this week!
This Saturday we have our Legs of Steel club event, where approximately 30 to 50 riders will roll out together into the Surrey Hills and take on some of the county’s most iconic climbs. Sunday will be the recovery ride. You’ll have earned it.
From regular club rides to weekly evening rides and early morning breakfast rides, there truly is something for everyone. Different pace groups, riders of all ages, all riding together as one team. It’s what we’re about.
Fancy coming along and seeing for yourself? Request a demo ride and come join us. We promise the hills are worth every pedal stroke.

What a glorious day! ☀️
Our HQ in has been absolutely buzzing lately. On any given weekend, we’re seeing 6, 7 or 9 groups rolling out in all sorts of directions. Surrey Hills, Kent, south, east... you name it, we’re covering it.
But the big news? Gravel is having a moment. We’ve noticed a real appetite for gravel riding growing among our members and honestly, it’s brilliant to see. Gravel, loose surfaces and questionable life choices... we love it 😅
Today we had 9 groups head out, including 2 dedicated gravel groups. Safe to say the legs were well and truly earned today! 💪🏻
If you’re local to the Weybridge area and fancy riding with a friendly, welcoming people, whether you’re after a fast chain gang or a social spin with a coffee stop, we genuinely have something for everyone. Come see for yourself. Visit our website and attend demo ride 🚀
And for those who missed today, don’t worry. We have two group rides planned tomorrow as well. No excuses. 😄
Also, huge welcome also goes out to all the new members and demo riders who’ve joined us over the last few months. It’s great to have you with us, you’re already part of the growing cycling community!
See you on the road (or the gravel)!
