You are so rigid with rules around food that you even schedule in “treats”, but once you have a taste it becomes uncontrollable.

Did you know we have three psychological needs that need to be met to be motivated to do something consistently?
#1 Autonomy: are you saying “I should go to the gym” or are you saying “I want to feel strong and confident”. If your plan feels like punishment, you ain’t going to do it
#2 competence: clarity and progress creates momentum, without it effort feels pointless
#3 connection: doing it alone is hard. Support, accountability, feeling seen and understood, that’s where the magic happens
This is backed by research around self-determination theory (my favourite of motivational theories 🧑💻)

She stopped chasing weight loss… and everything finally started working.
For years she thought she needed:
More restriction
More rules
More discipline
Because that’s what diet culture teaches
But behind the scenes?
She was exhausted
Fed up
Constantly feeling like she was failing
Not because she lacked willpower…
But because the plan was never built for her real life.
So we flipped it

To some this make look like “too much sugar”
A few years ago, I would have thought the same.
As an elite athlete I was constantly trying to control my weight. I thought being lighter meant I would jumper higher. So, I went through phases of calorie counting, and trade foods off against each other.
I never binged, but I restricted. And I was quietly exhausted by it all.
Now I eat dark chocolate and granola on a Wednesday afternoon and don’t think twice about it.
Not because I stopped caring but because I stopped letting numbers and rules decide what I was allowed.
That’s the difference between control and trust.
One takes everything from you. The other gives your life back.
