⚽ CAN YOU HELP US KEEP KICKS GROWING? ⚽

Tonight was unfortunately our last funded evening of providing hot meals to our young people while we wait to hear whether we’ve been successful with our next funding tender 😭🤞🏼

At the same time, Community Kicks continues to grow faster than we ever imagined.

Our 11–12 age group is currently bursting at the seams, with at least 10 children on the waiting list most weeks simply because we don’t have enough pitch space.

We don’t want to turn children away. Overall we have around 30+ on our waitlist every week across all ages ‼️

And we don’t want to stop putting a hot meal in front of the young people who come through our doors either. 💛

So, while we wait for news on our next funding, we’re asking our amazing community for a little help.

We’ve created three completely voluntary monthly supporter options:

Every penny will help us provide more opportunities for local young people... from additional pitch space and coaching so we can take children off our waiting list, to helping us continue providing hot food during our sessions.

Just £60 funds an additional pitch AND coach for a Friday, allowing us to offer up to 15 more spaces.

There is absolutely no expectation for any Kicks family to contribute. Kicks remains free to attend and whether a family contributes or not will NEVER affect their child’s ability to access our service.

But if enough people who can spare £5 a month choose to support us, together we can make an enormous difference.

Please help us say YES to more teenagers and continue giving them somewhere safe to go, something positive to be part of and a hot meal while they’re with us. 💛⚽

GCSE results day is nearly here. If you are feeling anxious, why not text a School Nurse through our confidential text messaging service for 11–19-year-olds?

ChatHealth is a text message service (07520 615721) to ask for health and wellbeing advice and is available between 9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday. Outside of these times, anyone who texts the service receives a message explaining where to get help if their question is urgent, and when they can expect a response.

No appointment needed, no stress, just the help you need, right from your phone.

As most of you know, Community Kicks already has our little Kit Bank where we keep donated boots, football kit and equipment to give out FREE to young people who need it.

The only slight problem… the Kit Bank currently lives in the boot of my car 😂🙈

It works because I’ve always got everything with me when somebody needs something, BUT we want to make it much easier for people to DONATE their old kit too.

So we’d love to have a permanent COMMUNITY KICKS KIT DONATION BANK at the Football Factory. 🖤⚽️

Something big, sturdy and preferably wooden where anyone visiting the Football Factory can easily drop off:

🥾 Football boots
👕 Football kits & training wear
🩳 Shorts
👖 Tracksuits
🧥 Coats/rain jackets
🧤 Goalkeeper gloves
🦵 Shin pads
⚽️ Footballs
🎒 Clean sports/boot bags

Everything collected will then be sorted and added to our existing Kit Bank, ready to be given completely FREE to local young people who need it. ❤️

Before I go and pay somebody to make one, I thought I’d ask our community first…

Could any of our parents, grandparents, friends or local businesses build one for us? 🙏🏼

It doesn’t have to be made from expensive materials either... reclaimed timber, pallets, leftover wood… we’re open to ideas! We can sort the Community Kicks branding and signage afterwards.

If materials are needed, we’re happy to provide/pay for them. We just need somebody with the skills (and probably more patience with a drill than me 😂) to bring it to life!

OUR OFFICIAL KIT SUPPLIER HAS LANDED! ⚽️🖤

Our kids made it very clear… they didn’t want just T-shirts 😂 They wanted PROPER training wear.

So we’ve listened to them… and here it is!! 👏🏻👏🏻

We’re so excited to announce that we’ve teamed up with APX Performance / APX Teamwear, who will now be the official kit supplier for Community Kicks! 🖤🤍

And we’ve already chosen the look… 👀🔥

Simple, smart and proper performance wear that our young people will actually WANT to wear. 🙌🏻

And APX aren’t just your average kit supplier either. They’re a huge performance teamwear brand, currently supplying the Scotland national rugby league team, alongside various racing teams and sports organisations. So to have Community Kicks sitting alongside some of the organisations they work with is pretty special! 🥹

They’re currently building us our very own Community Kicks online club shop, where you’ll be able to choose exactly what your child wants... training tops, shorts, trousers, coats, boot bags, water bottles and loads more.

You’ll also be able to choose from various designs and have your child’s initials added to their kit. 🔥

For anyone who has already paid £5 towards one of our T-shirts, if you’d rather put that towards the new kit, I’m more than happy to give you the £5 back from my own pocket to go towards something from the APX store. ❤️

And this takes SO much pressure off me 😂💪🏼 No more collecting everyone’s sizes, orders and payments!

APX are hoping to have our shop ready this week, and as soon as it’s live I’ll post it for everyone to see. 👀

We are a youth club that is on every Friday evening

Children aged 11-17 come to play football... no matter their experience and have fun ⚽️

We feed all of those that want it a hot dinner after their 1hour on the pitch and we have drinks available for them.

Our staff are there to mentor, guide and support them through whatever they need ♥️

At the moment we run a waitlist every week as the spots go that fast... we are hoping further funding comes in so we can expand our session and take on another 30 children each Friday 🤞🏼

If you would love to volunteer with us please get in touch. We have a few projects coming up and could do with some extra hands.

We are so incredibly proud to announce Tamworth Football Club & Manager Andy Peaks as our very first Ambassadors ♥️⚽️

This partnership is one that blossomed following our trip to the Lamb last season to be mascots... One of our teens asked Andy if he would be an ambassador and come to kicks and he said yes 😱

Yesterday we began our journey being flag bearers for the club & we will continue bringing lots of opportunities together for our teenagers.

We love Tamworth FC, the staff, the lamb and everything associated with it and couldn't be happier 🐑

Apprenticeship vacancies!

Two Rivers High School in is looking to hire two new apprentice Teaching Assistants! 🏫

They are seeking enthusiastic, caring, and hardworking individuals to work across various areas of the high school; supporting in classrooms, working with small groups, and providing care over the lunchtime period.

The apprentices will also join us at College one day a week to complete a recognised Level 3 qualification!
