Leucarum Centurions touch rugby

Just when we thought the season was finally over… it never stops! 😂🏉

The final junior event of the year (or the start of 2026/27!) was the youth South Wales Cup.

With Cardiff, Swansea and Carmarthenshire/Ceredigion represented by the Coyote Touch Cardiff , Centurions Touch and Can’t Touch This, it was a brilliant day of competitive touch, internationals across the teams and some great friendlies against the Bridgend Knights and Young Guns boys.

After a tight win over Can’t Touch This, a couple of friendlies and a crucial win over the Coyotes, we made the final against Can’t Touch This again! 💪

They came out firing, but a few half-time tweaks from Craig “Mourinho” Gilligan turned things around and secured a well-deserved cup win! 🏆

Huge shoutout to Jack and Iestyn, who came along to support their siblings and somehow ended up playing for the South West Saxons 2s and Bridgend Squires! Both were fantastic and helped the Squires reach the U12A final. 👏

For any one feeling the blues thinking the season has come to an end, well think again! Excited to see what this young squad can do tomorrow at the south wales cup in the mixed division. Counting 12 previous and current junior Welsh caps alongside some awesome emerging blues! Also chuffed to see two of our under 12s who were coming up to support anyway, and now getting a chance to help out the South west Saxons for some extra game time 🙏👏

🌍🏉 EUROPEAN TOUCH CHAMPIONSHIPS — HERE WE GO! 🏉🌍

A huge congratulations to all our Leucarum Centurions youth players heading off to represent the club and Wales Touch Association at the European Touch Championships!

This year sees a big increase in Centurions involvement, with even more of our young players stepping up to wear the Welsh jersey.

And it doesn’t stop with the players… for the first time, we’re also seeing our first coaching group heading along, alongside team managers, making this an even bigger representation for the club on the European stage. 👏🔥

We couldn’t be prouder of everyone involved. To see our youth pathway developing to the point where our players, coaches and volunteers are all representing Wales is a fantastic achievement for the whole Centurions club.

What a fantastic day!

It was brilliant to see the numbers increase from the last junior/youth event, the Atlantic Cup last summer. Even more exciting to see the Welsh representation continue to grow, with additional coaches joining the national setup, as well as an extra team manager! 👏

Yesterday was a fantastic opportunity to recognise and celebrate the players, coaches and managers for all their achievements and hard work to date. 🙌

We wish everyone the very best of luck in Warwick this week when representing Wales Touch Association. Go smash it! 💪🏆

Some great stats coming in from Stephen Williams our unofficial in-house mathematician! Great to see the boys earning plenty of experience internationally across a range of age grades and open teams. Well done again to the 50th caps for Gethin Harries and Calum Digby as well as top try scores for the club Ben Phillips with an impressive 11 over the course of the competition! 👏👏💙🏉🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Big shout-out to the Centurion family who rocked up in Vichy to support their family competing in the European championship’s 🙌

It was fantastic to see players from the Masters, Valkyries and Emerging Blues groups all watching from the sidelines, cheering on and supporting our players.

And seeing the kids walking around Vichy in their Centurions blue kits was pretty amazing! 💙

We’re excited to see so many taking all the experience, knowledge and learning from Vichy back to Cae Duke. The Centurion family continues to grow 💪

and are growing into superstars, with fantastic support from Calum Digby , who earned his impressive 50th cap! A brilliant 5th-place finish in a tough division, and we can’t wait to see these boys take on the World Cup in a few years! 🌍

Another 5th-place finish, capped off with a fantastic turnaround win against Belgium. Da iawn Alex Greenslade and Teifion! 👏

Well… what can we say?! They brought absolutely everything to the final and narrowly lost 8–6 to a well-established England team. Huge efforts from Ben Phillips Adam, Christopher Handford and Geraint Havard you did yourselves and the club proud! 💪

Gav Lewis Gethin Harries Gilly and TM Sarah G had a fantastic group stage, finishing 2nd, before falling in the semi-final against a French team they had already beaten in the group. A brilliant response saw them battle back to claim bronze against a much-improved Scotland! 🥉👏

💪 M55s
John Taviner and his team also turned up and gave England a great game, narrowly missing out in the final. What an effort! 👏

The inspiration doesn’t stop in Vichy.

Yesterday, 17 people trained down Cae Duke, with lots of new players joining us! 🙌

Another fantastic Ospreys Touch League season, brilliantly organised by the Ospreys in the Community 👏

This year was record-breaking for Leucarum, with 68 different players representing the club across the 10 rounds, as well as fielding our first-ever Masters team. What a milestone!

Finals night can always go either way, and with our Valkyries being the only Leucarum team to have lifted silverware since joining the league in their debut season in 2025, it was a huge achievement just to have three teams competing in the Plate, Bowl and Vase Finals. To make it even better, all three came away as champions! 🏆🏆🏆

Commiserations to our Centurions, who bowed out in the semi-finals to a brilliant Gower 2 Gower Dragons Touch Rugby side, despite being short on numbers 👏

A huge thank you to the fantastic teams we faced on finals night:
🏉 JLR, whose outrageous rugby union skills gave our Masters plenty to think about in the plate final
🏉 Mumbles girls, whose talented young squad continues to go from strength to strength, just edged out by our to take the Vase!
🏉 Baa Baas, who pushed our Emerging squad all the way, making this year’s Bowl victory even sweeter after last season’s final disappointment.

Now it’s time for a short break before many of our senior players head to Vichy to represent Wales Touch Association at the European Championships, while our junior internationals travel to Warwick for their own European campaign. We couldn’t be prouder of everyone pulling on the red jersey. ❤️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

So... can we make it five teams in the league next year? 👀 Maybe it’s time for the Mini Legion to join the fun!
