Spending some time reflecting and refreshing myself by reading back through my Equimotional workbooks and coaching guides… almost 2 years ago this course really inspired us and gave us access to some fantastic resources… since then the business has been a bit topsy turvy and this summer has been the hardest one yet with costs through the roof but takings and bookings have been very low… So to practice what I preach, there is always a positive and I’m sure something big and positive is just around the corner!!!!! I’d be so grateful if you’d take the time to complete our poll on our page so we can make sure and give you the sessions you are looking for… 🩷🩷

💗✨ DO LIFE LIKE DOLLY ✨💗

I’ve been reading more about Dolly Parton since the news of her death, and I already knew about the music, the books, the philanthropy, the rhinestones... obviously the rhinestones 😂... but I hadn’t realised quite how often animals popped up throughout her life too.

Her very first single was called Puppy Love, recorded when she was just 13. More than six decades later she launched Doggy Parton, her pet range, with part of the proceeds supporting an animal rescue. 🐕💗

Then there was Billy the Kid, her much-loved “god-dog”, a little French bulldog who ended up inspiring THREE of her children’s books. And Dollywood had a conservation partnership with the American Eagle Foundation spanning around 35 years, supporting the care, conservation and education surrounding bald eagles. 🦅🌲

And somehow... it all feels very Dolly.

Because when you look back over such a huge life, the bits that stand out aren’t only the records sold, the awards, the businesses or how famous somebody became.

It’s what they DID with it.

Dolly never seemed particularly interested in becoming less herself as she became more successful. Quite the opposite really 😂💗 The hair got bigger, the rhinestones got shinier, the jokes carried on... but alongside all of that she kept giving back, supporting things she cared about, championing children and literacy, staying connected to the Tennessee mountains she came from and apparently finding room for a fair few animals along the way too.

And I think there’s something in that.

“Do Life Like Dolly” doesn’t just mean we all need to find a rhinestone jumpsuit and backcomb our hair until it becomes structurally sound as the Eiffel Tower..... although I’m not completely against it. 🤣✨

Maybe it means...

Be unapologetically yourself.

Keep your humour.

Stay connected to the things that matter to you.

Love your animals. 🐕🐴

Give something back when you can.

Create things.

Don’t become too important to be kind.

And don’t assume you have to become beige, serious or boring in order to be taken seriously. 💗😂

I also love that Dolly’s relationship with animals doesn’t need turning into anything mystical for it to matter.

Animals can simply be part of our homes, our stories, our memories, our humour, our learning and the lives we build around ourselves.

That is more than enough. 🐴🐾

Do life like Dolly.

What a legacy. 💗✨
