Wildcats join the Junior Titans

Titans Basketball club Head Coach Simon Wood said:

"Great to see that we're able bring the 'Wildcats' session into the club and grow our offer by working closer together. We were getting lots of cross over with kids playing together at CVL [Next Gen League and Durham League]. Bringing it all under one roof will hopefully be less confusing for players and parents and will also benefit development for players, coaches and officials, compared to running as two separate clubs. Lets go Titans!! 👍"

The Wednesday community basketball sessions at Lambton Street Youth and Community Hub (Sunderland Wildcats Basketball Club) will now be rebranded and become one of a number of community sessions that are run by Titans Basketball club under the Junior Titans banner.

What will this mean for the Wednesday junior basketball sessions at Lambton Street?

>Prices will stay the same -£2 per session.

>No changes to membership. Wednesday sessions will continue to be open for any child who has a free membership with Lambton Street Youth and Community hub (the short registration form you all filled out on behalf of your child at their first session).

>Members of other basketball clubs will continue to be welcome (All the best local players play for multiple clubs).

>More opportunities for our children and parents to develop as players, referees table officials, coaches and volunteers.

>Discounted Titans T-shirts and basketball kits.

>A rebranding from Wildcats Basketball Club to Titans Basketball Club

Free sports (including basketball) activities and food camp for 8-16 year olds starting Lambton Street Youth and Community Hub tomorrow:

Free basketball sessions on 3 dates at the free holiday sport and activities camp at Lambton Street youth and community centre.

The camp is for 8-16 year olds and include a free lunch.

No need to book, just turn-up and drop off - 11am till 3pm on the following dates (coach-led basketball sessions are highlighted):

Thursday 6 August (includes a Basketball session)

Congratulations to our club member Jack Strong who won the Junior Titans U10 shooting contest today!

Well done to all the kids who played in our Under 10 basketball tournament today.

We had 3 teams who played 4 games each - with players from the Junior Titans, Sunderland Wildcats and South Tyneside Basketball Club.

Big shout out to our shooting contest winners who kept their terrific shooting form throughout the contest:

Lambton Street Youth and Community Hub

Well done to our U10 and U8 players today playing in the Durham League CVL and thank you parents for supporting them.

They played 3 games against Tees Valley Mohawks and 2 East Durham teams.

Our Big Cats are developing well, thanks in part to playing more games than ever this year, with more games in the pipeline.
