Piggy Blinders v FC Twente Nuggets
Week 3 saw the return of a Nuggets starting team and the champs took the stress of the last two weeks out on Blinders with a 5-0 victory. The chase is on.

Samba Snackers v FC Bayern Munching
Snackers actually having players available and a new recruit helped them record a win against an undercooked Bayern Munching, gettjng them on the board and climbing up the league.

FootballXL Liverpool Leisure United Jericho Lane Gym and Football, Gameweek 6 (25/08/2026):

Gameweek 6 began with Yellows taking on Whites. Whites took an early two-goal lead, but Yellows managed to bring it back to 2-2. Whites regained the lead with some great team play, and then went on to extend their lead to 7-2, putting themselves into the title conversation. FT: Yellows 2-7 Whites.

Greens then took on Blacks in our late kick-off. The score was held at 2-2 for a while, before a great long range strike from Greens allowed them to take the lead. They then doubled their lead late on and saw out the win, opening up the title race. FT: Greens 4-2 Blacks.

Amongst the top scorers we have Jamie Hughes leading with 10 goals, Kev Haymer on 9 goals, Conah Flynn and Ka Lau joint on 8 goals, and Dave McNally on 7 goals.

Lots of great scores across the Green Week League - Damien Phelan and Jamie Hughes in joint 1st place on 15 points, Andrew Lycett and Michael Bagan on 13 points, with Dave McNally, Louis Ross, Mark McNally and Paul Corkhill on 12 points.

FootballXL Wakefield

Week 4 of season 7 and a dry evening under the lights up at Frickley.

Blacks V Whites was our early 7pm game last night. Both teams started strong however Whites were quick to get on the scoresheet. Whites were able to add to the scoreline with Blacks (including their late attendee 😉) unable to get across the goal line, seeing the final score Blacks 0 - 7 Whites.

Both the later games kicked off at their usual times of 8pm and saw two more great games. In the Blues V Greens game, play was back and forth between teams, with Greens taking advantage of their new additions they were able to keep on top. Some great saves by Blues in the second half however Greens kept their lead advantage, ending Blues 3 - 6 Greens. On the adjacent pitch we saw Yellows V Reds in a game with plenty of shots keeping the keepers on their toes. Reds took the lead and were able to build on this in the first half. Yellows pushed through a few times however were unable to see the back of the net. Reds continued their push throughout the second half, with the final whistle seeing the game end Yellows 0 - 6 Reds.

On the top scorers this season; Max Charlottes sneaks ahead on 6 goals with Phil Eames and Kacper Jarszak hot on his heels with 5, closely followed by Kevin Jaggar and Chris Paterson with 4 goals each.

Andy Thomas sneaks ahead in top spot with 15 points, with Dwain Byrne, Jordan Green, Mike Elliott and Phil Eames all holding joint second place with 12 points.

Week 2 of Season 2
A unprecedented wave of injuries gave us a quick fixture change around and therefore we had two competitive early games and a more relaxed late game.

Game 1 - Samba Snackers v Man Chippy (2-9)
A fast start from Chippy got them into a few goal lead before a slight fightback from Samba notched them a few goals. Special mention to the fact this was the first full Samba team for a long time!

Game 2 - Diabetico Madrid v Piggy Blinders (6-1)
Another no borrow game which Diabetico showcased some merciless finishing to gain a good win and keep pressure on Man Chippy, could come down to goal difference?
Mid game injuries stopping the Blinders in their tracks but sure they will come back fighting.

Game 3 - FC Bayern Munching v FC Twente Nuggets (7-0) forfeit
Sadly due to holidays and injuries Twente Nuggets got denied entry at the border and no team were available. Due to a switch around and 8 plucky volunteers we managed to get a game on for Bayern.

Football XL Liverpool Leisure United Jericho Lane Gym and Football, Gameweek 5 (18/08/2025):

Gameweek 5 in Liverpool began with Greens taking on Yellows in our highest-scoring game since the opening evening. Yellows opened the scoring in a constant back-and-forth game, where neither team could establish a firm lead until the end, where Greens eventually came out on top. The pick of the bunch was a lovely chip from the Yellows. FT: Greens 7-5 Yellows

Whites then took on Blacks in the late kick-off. Whites took a 1-0 lead early on, which remained for the rest of the first half thanks to some outstanding saves from both goalkeepers. Blacks equalised with a glancing header from a clipped ball over the top, before scoring again. Whites equalised directly from a corner, but conceded to a kick-in going in off the goalkeeper. Blacks extended their lead to 4-2, almost to 5-2 were it not for handball during a goalmouth scramble. Whites pulled one back, but too late. FT: Whites 3-4 Blacks

Kev Haymer pulls ahead in the Golden Boot race with 9 goals. Close behind are Ka Lau, Conah Flynn and Jamie Hughes on 8 goals, followed by Dave McNally on 6 goals.

For the Green Weeks Leaderboard, Damien Phelan has established a lead at the top with 15 points, after a 4th consecutive weight loss which gave him a double point boost. Mark McNally is 2nd on 12 points, and Michael Bagan is 3rd on 10 points. We have another twelve players tied on 9 points, so some really good numbers all round.

Week 3 of season 7 and a wet evening under the lights up at Frickley.

Yellows V Blues was our early 7pm game last night. Both teams played strong football with opportunities for both sides being held off by the keepers. Half time saw each side discussing how to gain the advantage however the scoreline finished off evenly with a 1 - 1 draw.

Both the later games kicked off at their usual times of 8pm and saw two more great games. In the Blacks V Reds, keepers and defenders were kept on their toes with attacking play from both sides, Reds were able to keep their lead seeing the final result Blacks 2 - 5 Reds. On the adjacent pitch we saw Whites V Greens in a game of quick play with Whites taking the lead. Lots of great crosses from both sides, Greens were able to get on the scoresheet however the quick feet of the Whites were able to seal the victory with a 7 - 1 win.

On the top scorers this season, Max Charlottes is joined in the top spot by Kevin Jaggar, Kacper Jarszak and Chris Paterson all with 4 goals, closely followed by Jack Dyas with 3 goals.

Andy Thomas and Hedley Conway are joined in the top spot by Jordan Green and Phil Eames all with 12 points, closely followed by Jack Caden on 9 points.

It has arrived and the season started with a warm evening that actually turned bloody freezing by the end.

Two early games

Diabetico Madrid v Samba Snackers
A revamped Snackers showed signs of resurrection even though they are still waiting for a few players back, the light at the end of the tunnel gets nearer. A great effort and fightback led to a win on the pitch for Samba but the ever athletic Diabetico came out winners, with the borrow rules and a MOTM goalkeeping performance.

FC Bayern Munching v Piggy Blinders
Second was a solid game between Munching and Blinders that saw the Blinders getting their first Football XL win AND putting them top of the table to start the league. Both teams with a bunch of chances and even a goal from full length of the pitch sadly ruled out.

Late game

FC Twente Nuggets* v Man Chippy
The reigning champions started the season with a few borrows and a depleted injury hit team but still managed a good showing against a new raft of Chippy signings. A tight 2-1 leaves Nuggets with work to do to retain their title.

Last night’s Liverpool fixtures kicked off with Whites vs Greens. Whites opened the scoring with a well-taken volley from a corner, before Greens equalised from a cutback. The game then opened up greatly, with the Whites pulling into a 5-3 lead. Greens pulled one back with about half a minute left, which proved too late. FT: Whites 5-4 Greens.

Yellows then took on Blacks, with Blacks aiming to extend their lead at the top of the table. The intensity stepped up after a cagey, goalless first half. Blacks were denied by a goal line clearance before Yellows took the lead with a long-range strike into the bottom-left corner. Shortly after suffering an injury, they then doubled their lead from a corner. In the final minutes, Blacks pulled one back with a penalty and went on to equalise from a long ball. FT: Yellows 2-2 Blacks.

Ka Lau takes the lead in the Golden Boot race, with 8 goals. He is followed by an even sequence of Kevin Haymer on 7 goals, Conah Flynn on 6 goals, Jamie Hughes on 5 goals and Dave McNally and Tom Doolan joint on 4 goals each.

We have a 7-way split at the top of the Green Week table, with Damien Phelan, Dave McNally, Declan McGrane, John Carroll, Louis Ross, Mark McNally and Zain Saleem all on 9 points. Michael Bagan and Paulo Lucente are close behind, on 7 points.
