🏆 League Cup – First Round

Pennywell RK Tyres 13–0 Penshaw Tigers 🐯
The Grrrrrrrr Tigers came to town… and left wondering what hit them.

Pennywell RK Tyres cruised into the next round of the League Cup with a ridiculous 13–0 victory over Penshaw Tigers, putting in a dominant display from start to finish.

The manager finally decided to abandon his much-discussed 3-6-1 formation, and judging by the scoreline, it might just have been the tactical masterstroke everyone had been waiting for.

⚽ Brandon Keeps the League Form Going

Brandon continued his excellent league form in great fashion, bagging five goals and 2 assists and proving once again that when he's in the mood, defenders are simply there to provide background scenery.

⚽ Joe… Where Has This Been?

Joe also helped himself to five goals, while somehow managing to provide four assists as well.
A ridiculous individual performance against weakened opposition — but it does raise one very important question:
Why can't he do this in the league every week?
Is it the pressure? Is it the big toe? Or is it because he's been on the Jack Daniel's every week?
Questions that probably won't be answered anytime soon.

🎯 First Goals for Will and Drew
There were also memorable firsts for two Pennywell players.

Will Cork-Dove opened his Pennywell account with his first goal for the club, while also adding an assist to his name. A very tidy afternoon's work.

Drew, fresh from what can only be described as a kitchen session, somehow arrived ready to play football and promptly scored his first goal for the club.
Fair play. Whatever was happening in that kitchen clearly worked.

💪 Cal Brown Returns With a Goal
After making his return from injury, Cal Brown marked his comeback in perfect fashion by grabbing his first goal.
Nothing says "I'm back" quite like finding the back of the net.

🧠 The 3-6-1 Is Dead… For Now
Much has been said about the manager's beloved 3-6-1 formation, but thankfully, it was nowhere to be seen today.

The change clearly paid dividends as Pennywell ran riot, scoring 13 goals without reply.
Whether the 3-6-1 will return next week remains to be seen. We can only hope the manager has finally seen the light.

One final question remains after an otherwise perfect afternoon:

Post-Match Report

What a day for the lads.

Andre continues his ridiculous scoring form. Two hat-tricks on the bounce and today he goes one better with four goals and an assist. The man is simply unstoppable at the moment.

Joe Mather put in a complete MOTM performance with three assists. After missing last week, he came back with a point to prove and delivered.

Cairnsy grabbed his first assist for the club, building on a solid showing last week.

On his debut, Connor Barnes marked the occasion with his first goal for Pennywell. Not a bad way to start.

One talking point from the dressing room: the manager’s decision to go with a 3-6-1. The players were far from happy, with Kieron Ramsey particularly vocal about it.
Results paper over a few cracks though – five goals and three points will do that.

All in all, a dominant attacking display and a good win. Onto the next one.
