HebWay 2026

Hi Everyone,

After an overnight in hospital, a second set of blood test showed an improvement in Alasdair's kidney function but still below a healthy level so Medical advise was to not continue with the effort.

Difficult given the preparation and effort put into this attempt but always a risk with ultra marathons when tackling this terrain and distance.

It’s not the outcome we had hoped for but we are grateful to our Medic Marion and all the staff at the Uist and Barra Hospital who looked after him.

We're going to pause the ‘just giving’ while we reset and make preparations for a second attempt.

🏃UPDATE 🏃

After covering 46 miles, Alasdair Iain took a little unwell. He’s currently in the Uist and Barra Hospital for an overnight stay.

His medical needs are minor - but not ideal for running. Hopefully after an overnight stay he’ll be feeling better and we will be able to provide an update on the run.

Thanks to all the Uibhistich who have shown him unbelievable kindness and patience.
