Today saw us on a great surface with great footballing weather! The rain made the pitch perfect today and helped us play the football we have been!⚽️

First whistle blew and we were straight out the blocks raring to go wanting every first, second, and third ball that could be won! Playing nice football chances were opening up early doors and with Liam going through on goal within 10 minutes of play he felt the contact in the box and went down. The ref had a decision to make as he held his whistle to his mouth for 20 seconds before blowing it and awarding the penalty! Up stepped Cappo Leon Kirk to open the score at 1-0 and fire a great penalty into the bottom corner giving us a well deserved head start in the game.✅

We didn’t stop there with 20 minutes played we were 2-0 up and enjoying the Sunday morning watching the class act in-front of us on the pitch! This one came from Liam Anderson making brilliant runs beyond the back line caused them issues and finally payed off as a shot out wide was deflected right into his path giving him the perfect chance to grab his first of the season!⚽️

2-0 up and 25 minutes played looked to be a walk in the park but Cheshire Cheese decided to wake up and bag themselves 2 in quick succession to bring it all even at 2-2. Two scrappy goals to concede one from a corner one from a long throw not winning our first ball and the second in the back of the net! However our response was unreal…🤷🏽‍♂️

Straight from kick off we had an answer for there goal. About 10 passes and again up steps Liam to bag another with a great finish playing it over the keeper and leaving him in no man’s land🏴‍☠️ Half time shortly arrived and plenty of positives and some changes to come!

HT 3-2 with last weeks goalscorer lil Jord arriving on the pitch and Corb to replace Wils.

Second half begun and we looked the far better side with their lads arguing from the sideline to the pitch we just wanted to focus on our game and our football! Unfortunately against the run of play we conceded again bringing the score back to 3-3 and giving Cheshire Cheese a lifeline in the game! ❌

More changes to the side were made seeing Jacob James, Cameron Ray & Shaun Myles enter the field of play. 🔁

We all knew we couldn’t let this slip and continued in the same fashion as we ended the first half replying straight away and keeping positive that the result would land our way. From a set piece this time goalscorer Liam turned into the provider playing the ball to HT sub Jordan Johnson who smashed it home making it 4-3 and a great game of football for everyone watching!⚽️✅

We all knew now the floodgate had opened it wouldn’t be closing! 🌊 Jordan Johnson stepping up again on a ball played over the top by Brad Christie and after going round the keeper the first time and putting it wide of an open goal he didn’t want to make the same mistake twice 🤦🏽‍♂️ He was off aswell but as their gaffer decided he didn’t want run the line no more he threw the flag down and we carried on without one 😂😂😂 round the keeper again but this time finding the back of the net luckily, as everyone on the sideline thought there CB was making it! 😂 5-3 and the party don’t stop here!

Up next to add himself another for the season Dylan Thelwell taking his goal very nicely today after darting through the middle and again Liam finding the perfect run from Dyl with a perfect ball through to him! 1 on 1 doesn’t bother Dyl 🤷🏽‍♂️ one touch to set himself and the other to place it round a routed keeper and sending us all into early celebration on the side!⚽️ 6-3 up we thought it was done and dusted…

Getting near the dying stages of the game now and we looked amazing still fresh and still playing football on the deck! However again we couldn’t hold the fort at the back and went to concede 2 again to give them a second shot at redemption! Again not much to say 1 sloppy goal conceded and the other a great finish tbf to the lad took it round 2 of us and cool as a cucumber slots it bottom bins across goal! ⚽️ 6-5 and now we had a game to see out!

Keeping the ball well not allowing them to dictate play and having great discipline and shape is where our last goal came from! Oh and a solo run from Timmy Kirk from LB 😂 Picks it up in his own half and begins to drive. One tackle jumped over. Second tackle bodied him. Third man may aswell as not have been there as Timmy held him off like he was pushing post through ya letter box 😂 Finally after everyone on the sideline telling him ‘to the corner flag’, that all went in one ear and out the other 🤦🏽‍♂️ Unleashing a great strike across the keeper into the bottom left corner Timmy bagged his first of the season and the final whistle went as we all celebrated a great performance!✅

7-5 in the end and what a game for the supporters coming to watch us play! We appreciate you all! 3 points on the board taking us from 5th to 3rd is a great place to be 4 games into the season! 🙌🏼

We push on now and look to continue our great form against Norton Social at home next week!🔐

We did let you know we wouldn’t be coming with an apology for how late the reply was our Gaffa is a very busy busy man 🤷🏽‍♂️

We’d of loved fajitas but a phone call at 13:00 when most of our lads have been the pub and gone wasn’t really realistic but we appreciate the offer again and thankyou to your pub for putting food on! 🇲🇽

In the end though our lads did enjoy our fish fingers chips n beans 😂 heres a plate for ya just to remind everyone there’s nothing wrong at all with a good old plate of fish fingers chips n beans 🤦🏽‍♂️😂😂😂

Today we faced White Hart Smallthorne away in what seemed to be a great clash before the whistle even blew with a great game in pre season this was one to keep an eye on!!!⚽️

We started off brilliantly putting pressure on and keeping there key players way out the game, looking the better side early on. We continued our press and it shortly paid off as we won a corner and looked to open the scoreline! The first ball was dealt with by the White Hart defenders but the ball found itself back at Cam Shaw’s feet for a second chance to deliver and what a ball he played in to Jordan Johnson, bagging his first of the season, lurking at the back post to smash it home and give us a well deserved 1-0 lead!✅

We didn’t stop there either playing quality football moving the ball side to side we wanted to punish them more!!! The ball found Cam Shaw out wide who again delivered a brilliant cross again to find the run of Leon Kirk who rose like a salmon out of water to win his header and fire home again to make it 2-0. First header we’ve seen Leon score but what a header it was!!!⚽️

We continued to play the way we were but White Hart were persistent in trying to break our back line with long balls over the top to their target man. The game opened up with 20 minutes left in the first half and White Hart were hungry for a goal. Target man left in 5 yards of space picked it up and slotted away after taking a deflection to make it 2-1 and give White Hart a lifeline in the game…❌

Continuous end to end battles was making both sides shaky as the pressure started to mound up you could see mistakes slipping through. We conceded a corner right before the half time whistle and again there target man rose highest and converted a great header to bring the game all even at 2-2 and the halftime break giving both sides a well needed refresh!⚽️

HT 2-2 and 3 points on the line for either side the second half was set to be astonishing!!! 🏆

The second half was full of action just like the first! Last ditch tackles going in, goal line clearances and more GOAL’s ✅⚽️

Looking the far better side in the second half we knew we could add to the tally and up stepped Brad Christie to finish off a fantastic bit of football. From Kai at Lb fired into Leon’s feet in the middle of the park then moved onto Liam Anderson who rolled the ball to Brad who smashed one bottom bins!!! 3-2 and more confidence was showing through the squad.🌟

As the game went on we only wanted more and a deflected shot off the back of the White Hart CB after we hit then on the break, landed right into Dylan Thelwell path. One touch towards goal and a second to punish the keeper lifting it just over him as he rushed out put the game to bed at 4-2 and gave Dyl his 2nd of the season making him current top goalscorer 3 games in!!!🏆⚽️

White Hart thought they could get something out of this game and threw everything they had left at us! However our back line stood strong Blade Barrow winning every ball in the air & Ryan Corbett staying tight to his man not giving him a sniff. 6 consecutive corners later the final whistle blew and the sideline and team erupted!!!💥

A brilliant result for us today taking 3 points home and climbing up the table! Credit to White Hart during the game today respectful and honest they knew they didn’t deserve it but put up a great battle for 90 minutes.⚫️🔵

Yesterday saw us take on a new opponent in Five Towns FC at Tunstall Park which began under chaos.🤦🏽‍♂️

After a delayed kick off due to the ref deciding he wasn’t coming this morning.🤷🏽‍♂️At 11:15 we finally got underway with the league supplying them with a ref! Half of us with rough heads from our keeper Ethan’s 18th birthday party last night the game finally started!🍻⚽️

We started the brighter side applying pressure and playing 2 touch football moving them about. Early in the first half we had a delay in stoppage due to capo Jimmy Shaw getting taken out just on the edge of the box. After a hospital trip we’ve found out he’s broken his ankle… No luck for El Cappo recently just coming back from an opp hes returned to full fitness to now back out & it’s looking like he’s going be sidelined till the beginning of next year. Rest up cappo be back before ya know it! 🖤💙

Back to football! Luke Mountford replaces Jimmy with a like for like swap in the middle and Vice Leon Kirk takes charge. Five Towns saw the short disruption to try and take the lead after applying pressure to our back line. Thinking they’d found the first breakthrough going round the keeper Shaun Myles had other ideas and made a quality goal line clearance to keep the score all level! 🖤💙

Five towns were in control for the next 5-10 minutes and saw the opportunity to take the lead from a long ball over our back line leaving Keane Arrowsmith in two minds to come and collect or stay and set… Halfway out he’s realised he’s not getting there and tried to back peddle to set himself ready for the shot but their forward had his plan set in his mind and as he latched onto the long ball he’s slotted it home round Keane to make it 1-0. ❌

Shortly after we conceded we started to find plenty of joy down the wings taking the full backs on and delivering dangerous balls across the box! Jack Palmer played a lovely ball down the right side which Levi Wright got on the end of and calmly finished bottom corner to bring the score all equal at 1-1! ⚽️

Going into the second half, again we got back to playing the two touch football we know!

Five towns were looking to use there more deadly players out wide which we pointed out early doors. However being unable to stop every cross Five Towns winger put a dangerous ball into our box and after the ball bounced around in our area multiple times we were unable to clear our lines and they slotted home into an empty net. After going 2-1 we diddnt panic and carried on playing football not forcing the issue.

After a quick throw from Cam Shaw to Levs, again breaking the lines down the right hand side, he decided to play quality ball into the box finding Dylan Thelwell feet he pulls off a first time acrobatic finish to put the scores level at 2-2 and a game far from over!

The boys in black & blue then went hunting for the winner! Late on in the game Bradwell thought they won it with a strike from Jacob James outside the area searching for the bottom corner but a great save from the Five Towns keeper keeping the game all square.⚽️

FT 2-2 but a great improvement on last weeks performances and a much better result. ✅

MOTM - Shaun Myles played out his skin today🏆 close call from Levi Wright with a goal and an assist! ⚽️

We look forward now to push on and try and take our first 3 points at Thrubshaw next week!🏡
