🏉 COMMUNITY RUGBY AT ITS BEST | U14 GIRLS

Four of our Stockton U14 Girls travelled to Houghton yesterday, joining forces with the Darlington girls to get some valuable game time. 🙌

The result might not have gone their way, but that certainly didn't take away from the day! The girls had an amazing game, thoroughly enjoyed playing alongside their new Darlington teammates and came away with plenty of smiles.

This is exactly what community rugby is all about. 🤝

Working together across clubs helps create more opportunities for girls to get on the pitch, enjoy their rugby, develop their skills and, most importantly, PLAY!

A huge thank you to Darlington for welcoming our four girls into the team and to everyone involved in making the fixture possible.

🏉 WHAT A MORNING AT GRANGEFIELD!

It’s been a brilliant and very busy morning at Stockton Rugby Club, with TEN junior squads in action across the weekend! 🔴

There was plenty of rugby, learning and fun happening across the age groups:

🏉 U15/16 – looking at the breakdown
🏉 U13– working on 2:1 drills
🏉 U12 Boys – developing their handling skills
🏉 U11 – getting their season started again
🏉 U10 – getting back into the groove
🏉 U9– learning and developing their tackling
🏉 U7/8 – enjoying Tag Rugby
🏉 U6 Tiny Tryers – our youngest players getting involved too!

And not forgetting our U14s, who were out training yesterday! 👏

It’s fantastic to see so many young players enjoying rugby at Grangefield – and there’s always room for more!

⭐ NEW PLAYERS WELCOME ⭐

Whether your child has played rugby before or has never picked up a rugby ball, we’d love them to come along and give it a try. It’s a great opportunity to make new friends, build confidence, learn new skills and, most importantly, have fun!

📅 All of our teams will be training again next week, so it’s the perfect time to get involved.

Tomorrow sees the start of a new season as Stockton Rockets welcome Ryton to Stockton Rugby Club for our opening pre-season fixture.

This afternoon, we make the short trip to Talbot Park to take on Acklam in a friendly as we get our 2026/27 campaign underway.

Leading Stockton out is Captain Charlie Doherty, with a strong squad ready to get some valuable minutes on the pitch and start building for the season ahead.

Following the cancellation of our pre-arranged fixture against Upper Eden, we’re pleased to confirm that Stockton will still be taking to the field tomorrow!

We’ll now make the short trip to Talbot Park to face Acklam in a friendly fixture. 💪

What a day for our Stockton Rockets at Ladies Day, Sedgefield Racecourse!

We were given the opportunity to name a race and there was only one choice…

“NEWT’S ROCKET TO THE TOP” 🏇

A fitting tribute to Graham ‘Newt’ Newton and the incredible legacy he leaves behind at Stockton Rugby Club. Newt’s passion for women’s and girls’ rugby helped build the foundations of the Rockets, and it was incredibly special to also see him remembered in the official racecard.

To top off an already memorable day, the Rockets were crowned Best Dressed Sports Team, winning £500! 🏆

A huge thank you to Sedgefield Racecourse and Glenn Bowman for helping us remember Newt in such a special way.

“Build it and they will come.”

You certainly did, Newt. ❤️💛

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who joined us yesterday for our Stockton Rugby Club Summer Camp Day!

We hope you all had a fantastic time and enjoyed finishing off the summer with a brilliant day of rugby, fun and plenty of smiles! 🏉☀️

A special thank you must go to all of our coaches and volunteers who gave up their time to make the day possible. Without your support, days like yesterday simply couldn’t happen.

Seeing so many smiling faces out on the pitch definitely made it all worthwhile!

To everyone who came along – thank you for being part of the day. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did, and hopefully we'll see many of you back on the pitch very soon! 💪

For the FIRST TIME, we’re hosting a Summer Camp Day — packed with rugby, games, food, friends and plenty of fun! ❤️🤍
