Luke Mitchell Karting

Well it’s taken until now to update on the Nationals at Llandow Wales.

It was a very emotional one!
Luke came 19th overall in the championships and joint 8th overall with the fastest lap.

We’ve had a really rocky year with some unfortunate contact accidents that meant luke couldn’t finish the race . Some times where Luke’s Kart didn’t want to play ball and the first few races where Luke had to learn to get used to a high powered Kart. New engine and brand new chassis . He had to learn to race in wet and dry and sun and wind! It’s been an emotional rollercoaster of some amazing finish positions and some sad moments where he wasn’t able to finish but overall luke has had the time of his life following his passion and making a whole new Karting Family. Motor sports has given Luke a focus and discipline and for that I am grateful.

We have asked for an extension to race for another season as Luke has turned 18 and in education ( mechanics ) however we are not sure if we can fund it without a sponsor .
If your company can help in anyway we would be grateful to hear from you and would happily display your company name on his Kart 🏎️

In the meantime some of Luke’s Karting Friends ( or as he calls them his new Family ) have made a go fund me to try and get luke back on the track! We wouldn’t usually share something like this but the kids behind it have big hearts and therefore we are hugely grateful and thankful at their kindness.

Luke did amazing today in 31 degree heat!
He came 5th, 7th, 10th and sadly his chain broke on the last race so didn’t finish that and still managed to finish 10th overall 👏👏👏

Big shout out to my mechanic Razvan Cosmin Raileanu I appreciate everything you do!

It’s already a warm one! The track here is tough especially for Rotax ( Luke’s Kart) the track is hot and probably tacky! The heat is ridiculous but we are gonna own this and hopefully have a great day today!

Race day! Nice and local! Rye House!

Well what a day today was!
The sun was shining , the track was dry and the food was tasty!

First race luke started in 14th position and finished in 8th

Second race he started in 30th position and finished 14th

Third race was 17th position but he was taken out on the chicane and had to rejoin at the back and unfortunately due to some of the safety instructions not being followed at the track the officials quite rightly decided to finish the race on the battenberg flag which meant no one can overtake so luke couldn’t make his places up and finished 20th . Gutting for luke but the right call was made to keep drivers and Marshalls safe and remind everyone why the safety rules are put in place .

Final race luke started in pole position, it was a bit of a crazy race with contact here and there and luke spinning off . Thankfully luke was able to join the race but sadly finished 19th out of 30.

Was a great day, everyone was friendly and supportive and it was such a lovely sunny day!

Thank you to his mechanic Razvan Cosmin Raileanu who kept the kart in perfect condition all day!

Well after yesterday being a non runner we were so disappointed however today was a great day

Luke finished in the top 10 for all races - With a 6 , 7, 9 and 10 and finished 7th over all!

Well unfortunately we don’t have an update for today as Luke was a non runner due to brake failure.
However he was able to join in on the last race to make sure his kart was working … ironed out a few issues so hoping tomorrow is a full day of racing!
