Cynghrair Pêl-Droed leuenctid Gwynedd U14 Cup:

🆚 Bethel

A game of two halves for our U14s this morning against Bethel.

Going 1-0 up early on, we defended incredibly well throughout the first half but just couldn’t finish off a few chances we had.

The second half got away from us, with Bethel coming back into the game and eventually sealing the win.

A lot to learn from this game, which will make us stronger going into the upcoming league games!

All the best to Bethel in the next round. A great group of lads there who always give us a good game, and it’s always great to catch up with them.

U12’S CYNGHRAIR PÊL DROED IEUENCTID GWYNEDD:

🆚 Porthmadog

King George V field was the location of a ten goal thriller today as Dyffryn and TYB hosted Portmadog for a local derby.

The boys started off a bit slow and we're punished early in the first half by going 3 goals down but were single handedly dragged back by Milo to 3 all with a hattrick of outstanding quality including 2 individual goals and a header from a good corner from Sion.

Hari Jones made his debut from the bench today and got stuck in against his old side but was carrying an injury (plenty more games this season)

The boys had regrouped but went a goal behind but this is where the u12s excel in that they do not give up and showed great fighting quality to pull level with a superb header from Korey guiding it back across the keeper and in from a superb cross from the captain, Callum and a few mins later Tomi scored with a well placed long range shot which got the crowd going.

The boys then dug in and Porthmadog were thwarted time and again by saves from stand in keeper Zac who has amazing 2nd half throwing his body on the line with save after save.

Unfortunately we couldn't hold on and we didn't deal with a cleared ball and Port equalised in the last minute. On reflection a fair result

Plenty of positives from the game and experience gained from this type of game which will put the players in good stead in the future.

Next up is away to Penrhos. Thanks to all who came to support and hope they enjoyed an entertaining game. Thanks to Geth as always and to the team for their character. 🫀🩺 💛💙

U14’S CYNGHRAIR PÊL DROED IEUENCTID GWYNEDD:

🆚 Llanberis

An unbelievable battle on that pitch between both teams. We took the lead early on through Watson, but quickly conceded twice.

We then started to take control of the game, creating chance after chance and defending better. The half-time team talk from the coaches was to get everyone level-headed and continue doing what we know we can do on the pitch. Straight away, we put Llanberis under so much pressure again, but our final ball just wasn't quite enough.

Llanberis took a two goal advantage with 18 minutes to go, but that didn't put our lads down at all. If anything, it made them work even harder. An unbelievable ball from J. Horn on the wing found D. Thomas, who karate kicked it into the net to make it 3-2.

We continued to push forward and do everything right, with H. Charlton breaking free twice in the closing minutes to secure us a well-deserved win!

Incredible work from our lads. Thank you Llanberis for a very good game from both sides.

U14’S CYNGHRAIR PÊL DROED IEUENCTID GWYNEDD:

🆚 Blaenau Ffestiniog

A strong team performance from our lads this evening in sunny Blaenau.

We started brilliantly, with the boys taking everything we’ve been working so hard on in training and implementing it into the game.

We scored some incredibly well worked goals, including another fantastic long range strike from Thomas & Charlton bagging a hat-trick.

Defending as a unit and were clinical up top for the majority of the game. The lads should be proud of the shift they put in again tonight. A really close group of mates who are giving their all for each other every week.

All the best to Blaenau for the remainder of the season!

Well done lads!
