Getting stronger is actually quite boring.
There’s no secret exercise, no perfect programme, and you definitely don’t need to completely change what you’re doing every few weeks.
Most of the time, getting stronger comes from doing the same basic things consistently. Squat, push, pull, hinge and carry. Learn to do them well, gradually add a little more weight or an extra rep, improve how you move, and then come back next week and do it again.
Some weeks you’ll feel brilliant, while other weeks you’ll be tired, busy or simply not quite at it. That’s completely normal, and it doesn’t mean the session was wasted or that you’re going backwards.
The people who make the most progress aren’t necessarily the ones who train the hardest or manage to have the perfect week every week. They’re usually the ones who keep turning up consistently over a long period of time.
It might not make for the most exciting fitness advice in the world, but boring works. 💙

Not entirely sure what was said here… but apparently it was funnier than the session 😂
There’s a lot we take seriously at TIF. Making sure you enjoy being here is one of them.

September. Back to routine.
The summer holidays are brilliant, but they have a habit of throwing normal life completely out of the window.
Training gets missed. Holidays happen. The kids are off. Weekends get busy. And before you know it, the routine you had a couple of months ago has disappeared.
The good news is you don’t need to make up for it.
You don’t need to train every day in September, go on a diet or promise yourself that this time you’re going to be really strict.
You just need to start getting back into a routine that works for you.
For most of our members, that’s a couple of sessions each week. They turn up, we take care of what they’re doing, and gradually those weeks start adding up.
Nothing extreme. Nothing particularly exciting, actually.
But it works.
Here’s to getting back into the swing of things this September 💪

💬 "13th April changed how I feel about the number 13. That’s the day I had my introduction to TIF with Adam and I feel genuinely lucky to have found such a great gym.
Since joining, I’ve managed a PT session and a Build session nearly every week. “Nearly” is the key word: missing a session for a holiday, an injury, or work would previously have derailed me completely. But that’s another fantastic thing about this gym: perfection isn’t the aim, it’s about what’s good enough and achievable.
I now plan my month around booking my two sessions, and it works well for me. I love arriving and letting the fantastic instructors take care of planning the next 55 minutes - I don’t clock-watch, I just focus on the exercises and enjoy the banter around me.
TIF really is a unique gym. The small-group PT and class model is helping me learn correct technique, avoid injury, and I am gradually building my strength, all while having fun.
Thank you TIF!"

4 years at TIF 💙
We could tell you what makes This Is Fitness special… but we think Hifsa has done a much better job than we ever could 😂👇
💬 "Four years ago I joined This Is Fitness. Zafar joined a year later, deciding he’d just “give it a go for a month. He lasted precisely one week before joining properly and we’ve never looked back.
Four years on, we’re fitter, stronger and healthier, although I’m not entirely convinced that aching in places I didn’t know existed counts as a lifestyle benefit! 😂
But what makes TIF special isn’t just the equipment or the workouts, it’s the people. Great staff, brilliant members and a genuinely welcoming atmosphere where you can work hard, have a laugh and occasionally question every life choice that led you to burpees.
Without a doubt, the best gym in Stafford and one of the best decisions we’ve made. So thank you, Hayley, Liam and the whole TIF family. As the poster says…
We were built. We were burned. But we’re STILL standing! 💪😂 And apparently, stronger bodies age better… so there’s hope for us yet!" 😉
