Although the men’s league cricket season is finished Langley still have a few games on at the ground!

So if you haven’t had your full cricket fix this year, feel free to celebrate and commemorate those of our ex members and ex players who are no longer with us!

πŸπŸ’›πŸ’™ JUNIOR PRESENTATION 2026 πŸ’™πŸ’›πŸ

What a wonderful evening last night celebrating another fantastic season and our five junior teams.

Our managers turn up week after week sometimes two or three times a week and nights like last night make all that time and effort worthwhile.

They get to watch the progression of every child, and that progression looks different for everyone. ❀️

It might be taking their first catch, scoring their first run, getting their first 50, taking a wicket, getting bat on ball for the first time or simply starting to enjoy and believe in themselves.

It ALL counts. 🏏

Our teams are made up of children with different abilities, different personalities and different reasons for playing cricket and that’s exactly what makes a great team.

Some bring the driving force.
Some bring the confidence boost.
Some bring the encouragement.
Some bring the praise.
Some bring the determination to keep trying.

Put all of that together and you create a wonderful team spirit and to us, that can be more successful than winning any game… although obviously we all love a win too! πŸ˜‚πŸ†

We see plenty of teams without that spirit, so we already know we’re winners. πŸ’›πŸ’™

We kept presentation a little more low-key with an earlier finish this year… we’ll change that next year! πŸ˜‚πŸ₯³πŸ₯³ But it was a really lovely evening celebrating the children and everything they have achieved.

A huge well done to every single junior this season. And to everyone who went home with an award last night you truly deserved it and should be incredibly proud of yourselves. 🀩

πŸπŸ’™ Our Juniors Supporting PLANETS Cancer Charity πŸ’™πŸ

Tonight, two of our lovely juniors from our U9 and U11 teams had the pleasure of handing over a donation to Elliot for PLANETS Cancer Charity, raised through our junior cricket events at the weekend.

This charity is particularly close to us, as Elliot’s dad, Bryan, has received support from PLANETS Cancer Charity. It meant a lot to our junior section to be able to raise some money and show our support for Bryan, Elliot and their family.

Our children are always happy to get stuck into a cricket day and help raise funds whether that’s playing, helping out, selling raffle tickets or simply supporting the event.

It’s a lovely reminder that cricket is about so much more than what happens on the pitch. 🏏

A huge thank you to everyone who supported our events, bought raffle tickets and donated. Every contribution helped us raise this money for a charity that has supported one of our own. πŸ’™

Very proud of our juniors and the community spirit they continue to show.

Amazing Rachel Cutler and team!! πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ’™

We really do try and make every child feel welcome and part of something bigger than just the cricket at Langley and it makes it all worth it when we receive feedback like this! Thankyou South Wilts Cricket Club πŸπŸ’™ we can’t wait to have you back!

🏏 BRYAN PONTING U11 TOURNAMENT – WHAT A DAY! 🏏

Today we hosted the U11 Bryan Ponting Tournament at Langley Manor.

6 teams, 48 children and 3 pitches on the go!

🏏 Langley Manor

🏏 Hursley -Manor / Calmore

🏏 Calmore

🏏 Paultons

🏏 Whiteparish

🏏 South Wilts

And what a brilliant day it was.

Every single one of the 48 children was fantastic well mannered, friendly and just an absolute pleasure to host. The cricket was great, but seeing children happily stepping in and helping other teams was even better.

A huge thank you to Daisy, who stepped in with Hursley manor when we had an illness, little Freddie from South Wilts, who never played cricket joined in when we were short, and Henry from Whiteparish, who stepped in for Langley for our fourth game against Paultons. That’s exactly what junior cricket should be about. πŸ₯°πŸ

And once again, what an amazing show of helpers!

Max & HP helping this morning.

Woodsie & Tejas setting up the fields.

Tejas umpiring all day!

Jamie in the bar.

Nick scoring.

Chaz for cooking, stocking the bar, scoring and umpiring!

Will as today’s BBQ chef.

The lovely ladies taking photos throughout the day.

Susie & Daisy both heading off on emergency shopping trips! πŸ˜‚

Storm helping with the clearing up.

And possibly the two best raffle-ticket sellers there are Ava & Maddy! ❀️

It really was a cracking day, with some great cricket and a lovely atmosphere.

And most importantly, we were doing it while showing our support for Bryan, Elliot and their family, and raising money for PLANETS. πŸ’™

We will let you all know what we managed to raise once we’ve counted everything.

We’re really pleased with how today went.

Thank you to every single person who spent their day at Langley Manor today players, parents, coaches, helpers and supporters.
