I coach women for a living… but I’m still a woman too. 🩷
I know weight fluctuates.
I know the scales can’t tell me how much muscle I have, how strong I am, how fit I am or what my body is capable of.
I KNOW all of that.
But does that mean I never stand on the scales, see a number I don’t particularly like and think… for God’s sake! 🙄😂
Of course not. I’m human.
The difference now is that I don’t allow that number to dictate how I feel about myself or undo all the other things I’ve achieved.
At 53, I care about so much more than simply being lighter.
I want muscle on my body.
I want strong bones.
I want to be fit.
I want energy.
I want to be able to climb mountains, travel, take on challenges, play with my grandchildren and say YES to things without wondering whether my body will cope.
And THAT is what I want for my ladies too.
Yes, weight loss can absolutely be a goal. I help women lose weight and I know how much better someone can feel when they lose weight they genuinely need or want to lose.
But I never want the scales to become the ONLY measure of whether you're succeeding.
Are your clothes fitting differently?
Are you lifting heavier?
Are you walking further?
Are you sleeping better?
Have you got more energy?
Are you making better choices with your food?
Are you more confident?
Can you do something today that you couldn't do six months ago?
THAT is progress too.
I want women to stop believing that taking up less space is the ultimate goal.
For me, particularly as I get older, it's about building a body that's going to allow me to LIVE.
Strong. Capable. Healthy. Confident.
And hopefully still lifting weights, dancing, travelling and causing bloody chaos for many years yet. 😂💗
So yes… sometimes even your coach needs to remind herself:
The scales are ONE measurement.
They are NOT the whole story.
STRONGER FOR LIFE. 💗
And if you're tired of judging your progress by one bloody number on the scales come and train with women who are working to ards something bigger 🩷
Stronger. Fitter. Healthier.
More confident.
If you'd like to know how you can train with me drop me a message with the word STRONG and let's chat. 🩷
