Blythe Barracudas Swimming Club

Our first gala of the season is here! 🥳🥳🥳 Tonight we have nearly 60 swimmers taking part in the Nuneaton & Bedworth Swimming Harvey Novice Sports Forum Gala! 🏊‍♂️🏊‍♂️ We are excited to have both Team Red and Team Blue in action tonight, and we have many new swimmers having their first go at a gala! We are excited to watch you all race and wishing you the very best of luck! 🌟 Let’s Go Blythe! ❤️💙❤️💙

Will, Lena, Joe and James are all starting University. Will is starting the University of Southampton, Lena is off to University of Bath, Joe to University of Birmingham and James starting at Loughborough University! We hope you all have an amazing time! 📚🙌

Bonnie and Noah are starting new schools! Bonnie is starting at Mount Kelly on Sunday and Noah started at Repton yesterday! 🏫

Bonnie joined aged 7 in Blythe Barracudas’ Learn to Swim programme, before progressing into squads and onto her dual-swimming career. From the young swimmer in our Mini Gala, Bonnie has swum in multiple galas representing Blythe, many open meet and has so many incredible achievements! Bonnie qualified for British Champs aged 12 and has won the Warwickshire Open Ladies Champion title 8 times and has over 30 county titles! You’re amazing Bonnie - massive well done! 👏👏👏

Noah joined us also aged 7, progressed through our squads before joining City of Birmingham. Noah has represented Blythe in multiple galas and meets across the years. Noah has competed at British Champs, achieved many titles over the years and has even competed in the Regional Open Water Championships! Huge congratulations for all of your successes Noah! 🤩
Both swimmers have been captains in Arena Leagues, leading the teams to success! ❤️💙

Will, Joe, James and Lena have joined us in more recent years but have made an incredible impact to the team in this time! It has been lots of fun and massive congratulations and thank you for all of your contributions to Blythe! We hope you enjoy University and your new swimming adventures! 🏊‍♂️🏊🏼‍♀️

There many county, regional, national and international achievements between you all! From representing Blythe in National Arena League Finals, to winning multiple championship titles, we are so incredibly proud of you all! You really are superstars! 🌟🏊‍♂️🏊🏼‍♀️

It’s September already and we are back into the full swing of it this week! We hope that all of our swimmers and their families had a fantastic summer break and are recharged ready for the new season!

We hope that everyone has a fantastic first week back at school, sixth form, university and beyond! Extra good luck wishes to those with new beginnings! We hope you have an amazing year! ✏️📚🏫

We’re already getting ready for our first competition of the season this coming Saturday at the Harvey Novice Sports Forum Gala hosted by Nuneaton & Bedworth Swimming! We are delighted to have both a Blue and Red team taking part in this fun evening of racing! 🏊🏼‍♀️🏊‍♂️ Best of luck all! 🌟

Huge congratulations to Henry B who competed at the British Triathlon IRC UK Championships this weekend! 🌟

The recent hot weather meant there were high levels of algae deeming the swimming section unsafe which resulted in Henry competing in a Duathlon with running & cycling! 🚴‍♂️🏃‍♂️ Henry was a bit disappointed to miss out on the swimming after all the hard work he’s been doing in training, but he adapted very well and put on a fantastic performance in both individual and relay events.

Henry finished in the top-15 in all event formats, and he finished an incredible 8th place in the bike technical/transition challenge. Huge congratulations! 🥳

Everyone at Blythe Barracudas are incredibly proud of you! (And we’re sure there will be plenty of swimming opportunities coming up soon! 🏊‍♂️) 💙❤️

Whilst the summer break has meant a break from galas & meets, Phoebe and Grace have been busy whilst on holiday! 🏆🏊🏼‍♀️ They both won the Swanage Duathlon in their respective categories, and Phoebe also won Tristar 1 at the Midlands ATW Triathlon Series! Amazing work girls 👏🏻🌟💙❤️

The summer holidays almost draw to a close and we hope all of our swimmers & families have had an amazing time making special memories! ☀️ We’ve loved seeing what you’ve been up to! Owen has had a fantastic time in Thailand and Hudson is enjoying the view in South Africa - both proudly showing off their Blythe kit! 💙❤️ Enjoy the last week of the holidays and we absolutely can’t wait for the 2026/27 season to start very soon! 🏊🏼‍♀️🏊‍♂️🙌
